Unfortunately, nobody out here really cares about Walker. Even the people who are LP lifers. Denham carries the torch for LP!

I though he would be in AA ball by now. I went to a showcase at Episcopal high a few years back, with the best from the region, and in literally every drill, he stood out...arm, speed, hitting, power, etc. Thanks!
Toddrick Stevenson from Walker High Class 2006 - Where is he?

The best natural baseball player I have seen from age 13 to 18. Played for LA Tigers and Walker High. Five-Tool guy, could play OF, catch and pitch (mid-80's in high school). Was National U-19 Babe Ruth Tournament MVP, even though the team he was on from Denham did not win nationals (he accounted for I think about 7 of the team's 8 home runs and 50% Of their RP's). Tremendous physical and all-purpose football player too. Even very young for his grade, yet excelled. Had committed to LSU, then had an issue in high school, played somewhere I think...where is he?

She isn't there to be Bob Woodward.
You summed it up...she fulfills her role and fills her clothes just fine...of course the bozos on here likely don't know who Bob Woodward is! What a dumb-arse thread! I like Rachel Nichols too...how can you not like women who want to be involved in sports...many women/wifes simply try to ruin a man's love for sports!

He seems like a grat kid and has talent beyond his years. I think he is down to earth.

alex said what? i know him and he was pretty grateful to have bell. bell feels the same way about him i'm sure, but he's gone now so we don't see him...stop dogging and don't bring other kids into it. everybody likes alex and bell and appreciates what they did. the problem at LO was that they couldn't run against the big boys, so they blitzed bell and just tried to stop him, because he was the best player. it will be the same this year with mcgrew...he will lead the team in rushing and obviously passing in the big games, but they will blitz him, force the mistakes and lo will struggle. got to love high school football. but i live between walker and live oak and have never heard anyone dog bell until you...he shined in the red stick bowl. let' stop this crap...it is old news...new players and coaches now. enjoy college dude!

know you too J...... Why are you ripping high school athlees. I know alex is grateful for having david and vice versa...they were a great team. Any criticism is fueled by jealousy, which is a waste of time.
re: A quick thought on perceived physical limitations of recruits

You are right, but all thee were very successful college QB's with two winning national championships. White had bad knee problems of course and had very limited mobility. Also, all three were character guys, like Krentzel, Mauck, Flynn, etc...natural leaders.

...A servicable arm on a QB who can read defenses and plays smart is perfectly ok. A qb can win with his mental abilities as well as his physical...I am not going to judge on purely physical attributes.
You are right on. Surround a smart QB with good athletes and if he has an adequate arm, but decent feet, doesn't do anything to "lose the game," is so prepared that he distributes the ball to the right guys at the right time, etc...you can win at the BCS level. Look at Krentzal from Ohio State, both LSU Nat'l championship QB's, Alabama from last season, etc. If you aren't going to be running down field as a QB, who caes about your 40 time, etc.

Still, the single greatest decision I ever made was to run from that God forsaken patch of dirt and never look back.
The Dallas area is an awesome place to live. Denham and Watson are better now because people have moved out here from Baton Rouge, so not everyone is relatd anymore and sports is more emphasized with newer administrators and better coaches, but it is still a dead end. Curtis retired about 4 yrs ago I think. To succeed really, you need to leave and not look back!

At camps this summer, his real times shoud have been recorded. It would be awesome to see a Live Oak kid get some scholarship money from LSU for baseball and Tyler is the best athlete in his school and a hell of a baseball player. Springfield came to Live Oak at the right time too...they needed to beat somebody big, but Springfield is very weak...remember LIve Oak gave up 50+ to Assumption...defense is a big issue. Live Oak has hung with Zachary before, but they aren't really at that level. After Walker, district will be very tough. If the new coach actually stays, in 5 years, they can build up numbers and get to being competitive against all the teams in district...until then maybe an occassional upset. Last year they had no turnovers and beat St. Mike's by scoring 35 or so pts...it is not good that they lost that game...wins are hard to come by.

Now McGrew is a real athlete...RB last year and switched to QB this year...he is a legit 4.45-4.5 in the 40 and 4.2 in the shuttle. He is the best natural athlete at Live Oak...Switzer is not close to McGrew. McGrew can also play DB, WR, etc. McGrew has 14 HR's through is Junior year too and is a natural in the outfield and at the plate. He will likely play IAA at Southeastern, or a similar school...I think he is about 5'9' legit and LSU could ask him to walk-on, which often doesn't work out. He can proably hit any IA pitching though.
Keep the level of competition in mind though. I know Springfield well and they lost everything from last years team. LO beat them in close games in 2008 and 2009, but this year Springfield has nothing and are 0-3 in 2A...they dress out about 30 kids with a very weak senior class.
Live Oak is 5A but a bottom 10 team this year in 5A. Against St Mike's, a very mediocre 4A team, who Live Oak threw the ball all over last year, and who got pounded by 2A University the week before, Live Oak haad one TD and threw 2 or 3 picks. Consider the competition.
Live Oak will beat Walker and play Chalmette tough, but Zachary, Central, Denham and Catholic will get them. Against Central, Denham and Catholic, they may score once per game. Last year, they came back and beat Scotlandville, but this year I don't see it. The O can score 3 times, but the Live Oak D cannot stop anybody. I think Live Oak finishes 2-8, possibly 3-7. Springfield proably 2-8 in 2A. Inexcusable that Springfield scored 27 pts against LO.

Live Oak will tear up Walker next week...I say 5 TD's to 1. Live Oak has had some boys play college ball...two right now.

re: Why James Madison Should Play in the National Championship
Posted by Livingston25 on 9/14/10 at 6:28 pm to LSUAlum2001
James Madison is large enough to move up to the BCS. Then they could get a shot. They are in very rural western VA, but right by the interstate. They could draw better than many current rural BCS schools. It is a beautiful school and that FCS conference is by far the best in the country...last two FCS national champs from that conference with many good playoff teams...New Hampshire was an underdog to McNeese last year in playoffs and won 49-13. William & Mary, Richmond, Nova, New Hampshire, etc, have all beaten BCS teams over the last several years.

KBeezy,
I think Live Oak, now 0-2, will beat Walker in District, but lose the rest. They have non-district games against Springfield and Chalmette still to play. Last year they beat Sprfld 21-20 and I think they will win again this year. Last year they lost to Chalmette, ironically 20-21, and I think Chalmette will beat them again this year.
Live Oak prediction: 2-8 (1-5)
Walker Prediction: 2-8 (0-6)
Denham Springs prediction: 7-3 (4-2 with losses to Zachary and Catholic)
I think Catholic runs the table and wins district.

Now with no wife to appease and pamper, he will focus more than ever and I say he wins 4-6 more majors before he is finished, retiring with 18-20 and 75-80 or so overall PGA wins. He can win one major every year or two for the next 6 years, maybe 2 in one year. What I don't get is the RIDICULOUS world rankings. Based on inactivity and no rounds all year under 70, until yesterday, he should be 10th-20th in the world right now!
