You think there’s zero correlation that every major program has offered berry despite him playing 1A ball vs Sheppard in 5A?

It has to be camp and event related.

100% it is correlated.

But how much stock do they put into 11v11? Because that’s what they’re playing at the end of the day.

Neither Berry or Sheppard is going to show their true ability as a RB during 7v7, 100m, or 40 events.

But it’s been this way with football forever and is only amplified as you advance.

Look at the NFL combine. Every year players that don’t always perform on the field get drafted solely off of measurables from the combine.

Berry is very good in 11v11 play.

He also looks good at camps and in 7v7.

You’re saying throw all that out the window because Berry plays in 1A.

I do agree with this. But if schools only offer kids that go to camps when will these High School kids start skipping seasons to preserve their NIL worth. This makes me wonder why Berry is even playing right now. I know he’s a good kid and does not want to leave his team in the dust, but not all kids are like him.

Hell no. I’m 100000% all in for Berry. I know this is a long thread, but I’ve said that multiple times.

I DO NOT think Sheppard is better than Berry. I only think he deserves an offer.

Also I played in the district he’s in which is why I’m weary of the competition. But at the same time I’m his biggest fan bc talents like him DO NOT come out that district. Not even close. There was a kid from Ecole that went to Nichols in the late 90s and that was a big deal at the time. Baseball is a different story. Certainly not football.

Not saying this is the case, but what if the kid said thanks but I’m committed to duke?

Doesn’t seem plausible but it is possible. Either way I bet he will get an offer at some point

I’m down for that. It wouldn’t hurt my feelings. Just dont let him get away without offering.

Not really. the first decent team they played they got steamrolled and that’s not his fault. he plays for Mandeville.

Mandeville’s the kings of having a meh regular season and then making a deep state playoff run

Now that they’re dominating in the regular season…

if you want to know the reason he hasn’t been offered it’s because there are 5-6 guys in LA who could be P5 backs and LSU isn’t taking 5-6 backs.

Berry, Lindsey, Simon, Ford, Sheppard, and Parker are all getting P5 offers.

And we’re talking LSU, Texas, Alabama, Michigan type teams.

And players that were productive & not from larger schools get drafted solely on a healthy marriage of production, character & measurables.

Very true. My son was on the 2011 and 2012 teams that went to the state semis when there was no select and non select. We lost to Rummel and West Monroe. And not by much!

Bulovas almost hit that 67 yard field goal to beat John Ehret when they made it…

I was apart of 2 of the 3 years Mandeville made the semis. We had some college players but none were like Sheppard or his older brother (Bulovas doesn’t count since kicker).

Sheppard is an SEC back, LSU just may be full.

Side note: That 67yd field goal was so close to us going to State

St Martin's lost to the vaunted Pope John Paul II Jaguars last night. 28-21.

Watched him hit a 70 yard field goal at practice once.

That was a wow moment. If he had any degree of accuracy, thought he had a shot in the NFL

11 Att-111 yards-1 TD

Apparently PJPII was playing keep away all game. They racked up over 500 yards of offense. But they obviously stopped Berry when they had to, to include a 2pt conversion attempt.

It’s one game. Not putting much stock into this unless it becomes a trend . I’m more interested to see how he does against Riverside, West st John, and the team(s) in the playoffs.
