Is there any purpose in decommitting before the dead period? I get the uncertainty without a full staff, but what gets accomplished by announcing this? Hopeful to get more offers?

At this point, go get a JUCO guy or press for a quality QB to switch commitment.

What's missing in all of this is you're hurting the school you may (or may not) come & play for.

O needs to get his guy in here NOW and go find a QB before Feb.

Right. Didn't have to decommit. Just don't sign until you see who the OC is. Then make a decision.

I can't really say what it means for him, but hopefully it causes Orgeron to re-evaluate his timeline and make some moves.

Would you rather him stay committed when there's a good chance he'd flip to Memphis or Auburn without notice? He's doing not only what's best for him but for everyone involved in his recruitment. Shows us we absolutely dont have him locked up and need to make a move at OC SOON if we want to have a chance. I don't blame him one bit. He is enrolling in a college early, I wouldn't do it to a school without knowing who your coach would be either.

I haven't really crapped on Coach O at all, but he really set himself up for this one with Brennan and Narcisse by first saying he wanted to go pro-style when he was first coach then flipping his own script entirely by saying he wants a dual threat QB. It has completely not only left the fanbase confused, but our 2 QB commits as well.

Can you imagine how tough the sell is for other schools when recruiting him?

"So, tell us what you're most excited about when thinking of going to play in LSU's new offense..."

Crickets....

"Oh, yea because they still don't have an offensive coordinator. Well here's what we offer"

shite, I'd be concerned too. I'm pretty concerned at the moment.

Was there any purpose to them saying a hire wouldn't happen until after the bowl game other than them waiting out Kiffin? Hiring a coach and letting him finish out the bowl game isn't unheard of. I wasn't bothered by the wait before but this is now seeming pretty dumb.

When have we mismanaged the QB situation like this in the Miles era?

agreed

Not saying he shouldn't have done it but just wondering what the end game was if there was one.

It's pretty obvious this was the only play they had. And the LSU AD soaked it up because O sold that he could take something from Saban.

LSU needs to nut up and tell Kiffin they have to know something this week. If not make a hire and reel the fish back in.

Not really, this is a CRUCIAL hire, you don't really put it on a timeline. If you can make a great hire the next day, you make it.

They need to tell him they've moved on...don't call us, we'll call you.

Alleva deserves all the blame here.

You don't start firing your recruiting coaches and expect there not to be a fall off.

Just not sure what is happening with Coach O.
