I thought we reached for Tyrone Methiu (misspelled) from St Aug. I am apologizing for doubting his abilities and will say that I am wrong. TM is a awesome player that knows how to make plays. Please accept my apology

I'll tell his mother who I work with. She'll get a kick out of it, and pass it along.

But how did you doubt him? When I first saw his footage on You Tube right after he committed, I thought it he had some of the best cover skills I've ever seen out of an LSU commit.

I didn't even know it was her son (though I thought she was just related somehow because of St Aug and them having the same last name, and called to get info.) I wanted to know more from her about this lowly-ranked prospect who looked like a 5 star on film. Just curious, did you not see his footage, or just wasn't impressed with it?

Glad you came around though. He deserves the acolades. For a freshman, he's not only making an early impact, but shows great promise for the future.

It really is crazy how much he is around the ball for a freshman CB. For anyone really.

I accidentally called her once from the Academic Center. Seems like a nice woman.
Mathieu is tearing it up right now and has a nose for the ball. There's no doubt that not only is he the top freshman performers for us thus far, he's one of the top players on our team right now.

He is going to be a star before he leaves here.

I remember a lot of people doubting the skills of Stevan Ridley during his recruitment.

Hell, a lot of people still doubted him until recently.

No problem. But in case you were wondering, that's why Les Miles makes about $4m more than you do.

Are you saying he isn't a star now? How many big plays does a defender have to make to be a star? He's got a season's worth in 6 games.

The things he does as a true freshmen are just things you can't coach. That strip tackle was just perfect technique. There are times when someone's helmet hits the ball or someone is carrying it loosely and it's fumbled but that was just a perfect rip and strip.

The kid is light years better than Peterson was at this point.

From what I saw I thought that he was raw and needed a year or so for development. Maybe this is the reason why I am not a coach Tell his mom "Im sorry for doubting and hopefully she forgives me." TM is playing his way into a AllSec selections and All American.

I thought he was great find after watching his videos before he ever stepped foot on campus.

He is, barring injuries (crosses fingers), the next great LSU CB and a future NFL first rounder.

He has a chance to wind up as the best cover corner to ever wear P&G.

For LSU yes, but I should have been more specific and said national star.

I honestly thought he was going to be our next great shut down corner after watching his video's, but I never thought he'd be comtributing this much as a freshman. He is getting sacks, hits on the qb's and forcing fumbles like it's going out of style.

I can't remember the last true freshman we had playing that was as big a playmaker as he is... Vincent is about the closest thing I can think of.

Vincent was a RS Fresh, but Michael Clayton comes to mind as the last True Fresh to be an actual playmaker for us.
