Prior to Dennis Franchione in 2003, A&M had finished .500 or better twenty years in a row.. R.C. Slocum had only two .500 seasons and never had a losing season at A&M.

Trust me the similarities are definitely there..

TX pop = 25.1 mil

La pop = 4.5 mil
Ark pop = 2.9 mil
Miss pop= 2.9 mil
Al pop= 4.7 mil
Tenn pop = 6.3 mil
S Car pop = 4.6 mil
Ky pop = 4.3 mil
TOTAL = 30.2 mil

Obviously Florida and georgia are bigger but the aforementioned states account for 10/12 of the SEC schools.

Louisiana DE Denzel Devall says he grew up following LSU. “I grew up on LSU football,” Devall said. “But when Nick Saban left I started watching other schools more. But it’s the home program and I love the atmosphere there. They’re a great team every year.” Devall says he also favors Texas A&M and TCU. “A&M is great. The coaches are fun and the program is coming up. I like the depth chart..

He also said this ""I didn't grow up liking LSU too much. They're a good school, but I was never really a big fan of them."

I just wasn't impressed given all the hype about the guy. He is certainly talented and seems like a great guy.

I know someone else already said this, but I walked away from the Cotton Bowl thinking the exact same thing about Peterson. If you judge either of them off of a single game's performance, I have to believe Von edged Peterson out despite the final outcome on the scoreboard. That said, you have to look at a player's entire body of work and not just a few highlight reel plays. Von was an impact player for us down the stretch just as Peterson was for you guys.

Stop selling it on message boards or to recruits? We would be dumb to not tell a recruit that they can replicate what Von Miller has done in our system. And Von wasn't that highly ranked out of HS so it very well could be true after 4 years under Dat Nguyen and Nick Toth
