The coaching staff wants this kid. It's as simple as that. Will he be a good player? Only time will tell. But, I'm quite confident that the coaching staff feels like they got a very good player.

My one legit source is a guy who formerly worked for scout and he'll drop a line sometimes here and there about LSU commits or LSU prosects.

LOL, so people on the recruiting board haven't been chatting it up so it came out of nowhere?
We have been recruiting several big name corners for a while now (Lynn, Winston, Branden Smith) so that tells you they PLANNED on having another corner in this class.
Claiborne came to camp, made a statement, and put himself on the board for that corner spot. He was going to be watched his sr. year to see how he looked in live action, and if we struck out on the big name guys, and he proved he was worthy of the spot, the offer was coming.

the kid was waiting for an offer and really wanted to be here. sounds like an athlete and a hard worker. I want kids who want to be here and our dedicated to making us better. I'm glad to have someone who actually wants to be here. Hopefully he is a late bloomer who will come on strong for lsu in a few years. We might be getting a little spoiled with wanting only the recruits who can come in an contribute right away.

Sorry if I blew up on you. I just get sick of everyone saying things about the commitments that don't hold much weight. I just think people overestimate their own recruiting skills. I also know that you are adamant that CM is the best thing since sliced bread, and all of the recruiting gurus are saying that he is not a possibility in this class because Ford is just as good/ better.
