I know that can be true, but in my dealings with Sonny, he is extremely up front and honest with his opinions. He does not sell his site by making up info, but sells it by his hard work.

So you think the coaching staff is "settling"?

hell i think even the tepper tigers in this thread are admitting that we whiffed on the big CBs and went on down the line

In mid-November? With the limited spots we have left? and the caliber of players still on board?

that's where the negatigers are left scratching their heads

This makes sense to you?

nope

which is why my mind is blown right now a lil

I went to Scout to see what they have him listed as: WR 1 star....So he can basically play offense and defense well...
What was really strange was a picture of Dre Kirkpatrick. Said from an LSU visit they need someone to guard Julio Jones..
Not sure why i laughed when i read that but i did...Goodnight everyone...Tommorrow is a new day. (For Debose to commit)

Your mind is blown because you are ignoring the simplest and most likely explanation.

so our coaches bust arse to recruit bigger names and then just suddenly offer a no name local, "diamond in the rough" type?

THAT makes sense to you?

Isn't it funny that this board is so littered with negative posts amidst a likely top 3 recruiting class?

It seems lately that a lot of rantards have been creeping their way to this board.

No that doesn't. What does make sense is that this guy impressed them at camp, so they decided to look at him closer during the year. As the year progressed, they saw that his athleticism was not a fluke and decided he was the real deal. Does that make sense to you?

so why did they even try to recruit any other CB?

seems like a waste of resources when he's (1) a local kid and (2) a "no name" type

Yes. I believe that after further evaluation, they made a decision that they really wanted him, offered and he accepted.

I can guarantee you that they aren't panicking in mid-November.

I said they were evaluating him. Who knows, maybe he was the third person on the board and after we lost out on Lynn and the saw Dre was a pipedream, they decided this was their guy. I am not a coach and do not have inside sources. All I know is that the kid went to camp and preformed lights out, has had a heck of a season (one good enough to deserve an offer), and the coaches decided he would be a good addition to an already stellar class.

More like 6th at best, behind Dre, Lynn, Smith, Winston, and Janzen.

i don't disagree with this

what they're trying to say is that the coaches had him above dre and lynn and offered him accordingly

I don't think anyone is saying that. I also don't see them going down their depth chart in people as they see as takes in a position that they want another recruit as being desperate.

I think this is kind of an asinine analogy. That would be like saying who was the last great player to go to the NFL from USM, Brett Favre? Does that mean that no great player will ever come out of there again? NO. This is just a really bad argument against a kid because it does not pertain to his abilities at all.

wasn't trying to make an analogy at all, just wondering who the last lsu player to come out fair park was b/c the commit caught me off guard after reading the scout email.. hell, after only reading the first couple pages from this thread on this guy believing he would turn out like ronnie prude would be optimistic
