What do you mean what I wish? that is exactly what happened. I mean Storm's dad said it himself in the interview

They did not hold up their end of the deal and pissed off Miles from what his h/s coach said. Sure sounds like we moved on pretty quick after the story was run. Got a new big RB commit, same day Storm's offer is no longer on the table.

All this tells me is that Ware was higher on the board than Storm.

If they really want Storm, then they would still have him and Ware would have been told a spot was not available.

The kid is going to be at your school for 4-5 years. You don't let a slip up by his father deter you to the point where you take people lower on your board.

I will probably be in the small group that just feels Storm was led on to a degree and the staff took a guy higher on the board. It just so happens that Storm's dad was irresponsible and gives an "excuse" for LSU to take a guy rated higher on their board.

That's what I was thinking. I think the offer that is no longer there says Lache is all LSU. Maybe even a silent IMO.

His dad leaking that would not make the coaches revoke an offer.

"They"?

Is Storm supposed to monitor his father 24-hrs a day and make sure he doesn't say something stupid?

I think if it went down that way, that's bushleague. The son shouldn't have to pay for the father's frickup.

I could see if he went blabbing and bragging to the recruiting media, but STORM kept his mouth shut and didn't say shite.

Like I said...I feel sorry for the kid

The kid has 6 months to go out and find a school. He should call up Butch Davis tonight now that they missed on Ware.

If he is as good as everyone on the Rant says he is, he should have schools beating down his door.

Agree completely.

I think the staff led him on--and I will be roasted for ever thinking our staff could do something 'wrong.'

ETA: If the staff were to miss out on Ware, then they can cover their bases and still have Storm in the bag. It is a win win from the LSU position.

we would already have 3 RB commits and 4 if Lache comes.

I wouldn't count a FB as a RB. since they won't be competing for playing time. JMO.

They're probably thinking about 2011 with Hilliard and Hill.

Then why pickup Ware? If they were holding off on Storm to pick up Lache, then why take Ware now? Unless Lache gave a silent at camp, but shite...the way he was talking a year ago, you would have thought he was a silent THEN, and then all the visits to Auburn and what not.

No, I think this had more to do with Ware than with Lache IMO.

ETA: Ware is a SSOOOLLLLLIIIIDDDD pickup IMO. Dude came out of nowhere and is going to be a gamechanger IMO.

Plus his name just sounds "NFL"

if true, I feel sorry for Storm too. I wasn't sold on him as a prospect but that's not the point

we drove Pratt to start smoking dope after shittin on him... Storm might turn into a crack addict now

LSU didn't do anything differently than what Florida has done with James Louis, Dominique Easley, and 20 others in this class. Or Georgia has done with those Carver kids who's commits they didn't accept.

It's just the way recruiting is right now. IMO coaches are trying to get used to it as well, and that is probably bringing about some touchy situations.

So are you positive that he was a silent commit? I thought you said before that you weren't sure if he was a silent or if LSU just didn't accept his commit?

I'm just curious what you had heard.

Yeah, and LSU fans have been ripping them for dirty recruiting. It's not right.

However....

if that were the case then why even bother with the initial offer? The staff knew storm clearly wanted to be a tiger. They could have easily held off until his season started.
