I just hope Crowton goes. We need a new OC BAD.

Agree letting miles go now would hurt recruiting. Getting a new oc would help the present qb play and the future of the offense. Theres plenty of talent, its just not being used properly.

Why is it a given that Frank Wilson would leave? I think the powers that be at LSU understand how important keeping him on staff is to keeping this class together. Same goes for the defensive staff - Chavis, Cooper, Haley...you would bring in a coach who is amenable to keeping those guys in house.

you cant do that to a new coach. he would want to bring in his own coaches. if we would hire a defensive coach he would not keep chavis.

That's not entirely true...Les kept Jimbo on staff, and that happens fairly often. I agree that not all of the assistant coaches would be kept, the new coach would want to make his stamp on the program, but a couple coaches could be selectively kept. It would just be a horrendously short sighted and idiotic move of any new coach that is hired at LSU to not hang on to Frank Wilson. Honestly, if the guy is not amenable to that then I don't think we should hire him. That's what the interview process is about.

With that being said, I hope that Miles hires a new OC and gives him full control, we land Zach Mettenberger, and can move on from last weekend. If the right things fall into place, the future still looks good in spite of what they're saying on the Rant.

Nov 20 is Miles' call to Jesus day in recruiting. He MUST talk Mettenberger into coming to LSU as QB, if not he is gone as JJ and JL will never make it and there is no other QB on Scholie.

I don't care about this years recruiting, getting rid of miles is in the long term best interest of the program.

Miles isn't going anywhere man... EMBRACE it.

Maybe UGA will make a rash decision and fire Richt, so LSU can hire him as OC if he would interested.

/fingers crossed

Miles won't be fired this year. We will beat Ole Miss, and the two in-state schools for sure, and I actually think we win two other games as well. With a 9-4 record, Miles won't be fired. However, Crowton will, and I think we will all embrace that for obvious reasons.

Miles is here to stay.

if you want him gone, write to Joe ALeva and stop fricking up the team and the future of LSU football.

Why does that have to happen?

I think anyone who would come in would at least keep Wilson on the staff...he's that valuable...especially if we got someone who's not familiar with La.

Agreed. I think a big enough name like Patterson form TCU would be able to keep most of the class.

I wouldn't want Richt anywhere near here. I doubt he & Mettenberger can co-exist. I think getting Mettenberger here is far more important. There are a # of good OC's out there LSU can get, without having to hire Richt.

Keep Miles

Bring in Dana Holgorsen for OC

We will have a dominant team. Heck maybe he could even bring over his current QB commit J.W. Walsh if we acted quickly enough.
Video

Wishful thinking, I know
