What? Did I misspell his name? OK, a star player at Bama. Or any Bama recruit. It's unbecoming. It really is. I love the enthusiasm but it really does not need to be broadcast on youtube. It doesn't.

Well, i played baseball.... but dude no way you can expect someone in highschool to not be like that. Seriously? You tell me you weren't excited when you signed your LOI? Or were you all business and military like? I understand once your on campus and you have to carry yourself cause no matter what you represent your school, be it at home or on the field..... but man, you just seem a little harsh. If your not having fun then your playing for the wrong reasons....

Dude is excited that he's getting to fulfill a lifelong dream that he's been working his arse off for probably more than half his life.
You mentioned, "If he was one of my associates, I'd punch him". Guess what- he's not an executive banker or a lawyer in a boardroom. He's an excited high school kid . You're coming off looking like a major douche in this thread. Notice literally NO ONE is on your side in this one?

I was. I hugged my mom and my Dad. I certainly didn't do cartwheels in my backyard. And I didn't post video of it for all to see (admittedly, they didn't have youtube back in my day).
I love his enthusiasm, but he needs to grow up. It's big time now. Criticize me all you want for pointing out that he's acting like a girl who just got asked to the prom bby the QB ut hopefully it's the end of it. If that's the last Mickey Johnson cartwheel we see, all the better.
One caveat--if he plays a meaningful role in a national championship, he can cartwheel all his way out of the Superdome past the Thin Pink Line on Bourbon Street for all I care.

Mike Fudgepacker is wrong about the kid having fun. I bet Mike's fun to be around.
Posted on 2/3/11 at 9:51 pm to Mike Linebacker
I obviously don't mind the enthusiasm. But that doesn't need to be on Youtube.
Sorry, no one wants to see a kid make like Big Gay Al from South Park in their backyard.
Stfu and stop being a giant douche.

So you think Mickey is just the coolest Acreboy?
I get he's having fun. I had a damn good time at his age. But I never stopped to think about recording it with a pre-set flicker cam and tripod (nor would I want to). Nothing says sponteneity/poser like a video cam on timer.

Since you can't even speak english, I shouldn't respond. But I have made a typo or seven so I will.
If you are saying "he's a kid 'REPRESENTING' LSU..."
I agree. Which is why I bothered to comment. If he was a kid making an arse of himself in his backyard representing anything else, I wouldn't care. But since he's a kid now "representing LSU" I will comment as an alumni of the school and kindly ask his to not be such a jackass in the future.
I'm all for enthusiasm. But I'm against feigned enthusiasm for the cameras. Mickey is now a brand new DT/C for LSU. At least he's committed to being such. Time to act like it.

Thanks for filling us in on the proper way for these kids to handle these situations. Is there an RA button to switch this guys name to Buzz Killington?

He's a high school senior... he's having a little fun. You can remove the broomstick from your backside now.

Sorry for expecting them to be men about it. I didn't see La'El filming himself doing handsprings in a leotard.

Request Admin is a button on your screen. Go ahead, tell them I'm mean and it's not nice to be mean.

quote:No it's not. Kids still in high school, pull the sanctimonious corncob out your rear and relax. he's an excited high school kid. There's no harm in him having a little fun. If I am not mistaken, I believe he his still 16 years old as well. He's not going to be balancing the national budget and negotiating middle east peace next week, give him a break.
but he needs to grow up. It's big time now
You've made your point and have yet to have someone agree with you. Time to back away and let the kid enjoy his moment.
