He looks thick now at 200 pounds, but I'm pretty sure once he gets in Moffitt's system he'll weigh 220 to 225 pounds. He'll have to in order to take the physical pounding of running between the tackles in big boy college football.

I see him more like a poor man’ Spencer Ware and a bowling ball on third and short to keep the chains moving . His other strength is that he’s so hard to bring down so I’m thinking there is a little Joe Addai ( Think Miami Bowl game) where he can wreck a guy downfield in the second level and fire up his teammates. But I don’t want this guy getting fancy and running sideways because he just doesn’t have the speed to hit the corner .

He runs a 4.5 for those saying he's slow........always takes 2-3 to take him down. He's a faster DW imo.....

not being negative but I didn't see mch in the film to predict he'll be a great back in the SEC. every highlight was a TD run where he basically wasn't touched. I didn't notice him breaking any tackles; it looked like his blocking was so good he didn't need to. if anything, the opponents were pretty bad at run defense. he hit the hole with great speed tho.

I'm sure the coaches like him for reasons other than this highlight film.

Breaking tackles? Here you go (look at the 2nd video from his senior season):

I just hope he doesn’t leave football for the track team .

Seriously you guys do this to yourself every year . You watch tape and you turn every single player into all things . It’s not enough that he be a tough interior runner, now he’s a speedster and a chick magnet too, when he’s not sailing around the world to give Physics lectures. Just stop .

Darrell Williams was VERY slow coming out of high school and he did fine this year. If nothing mattered but speed, you'd have Oregon with a few titles recently wouldn't you?

People said that about Williams as well. Curry will have a role.

I'm not saying he will be the next great back, but he should be very capable. He dealt with injuries his junior and senior season which hurt his performance and ranking. He still was the 15th ranked RB in the country so he's likely pretty good.

He averaged 11 ypc his junior season in 7 games and scored 13 TDs so the knock is he had too many holes to run through. His senior season he had no blocking and you see him break tackles, take 4-5 guys to bring him down and moved the pile 5 yards each time. The knock? Where are the big runs and TDs?

Classic rant.

He decides quickly where he is going with the ball, and once he decides, he is a freight train. I like him. He is an LSU kind of back.

you do realize that was a different video than the first one posted? this video showed more and I think is better to evaluate his performance. yes, I saw him run in traffic and he did very well. he even caught a pass.

like I said, i'm sure coaches saw some things other than that first video.

Yea, I tried finding the guy on some Lehigh roster's on 247, had no luck. Don't know if he was older than Curry or not. But, Curry isn't slow, so that dude is really fast. Was watching Saints today and Ginn jr. had a nice end around run and it reminded me of the high school all-star game he was in and ran a kickoff back for a touchdown and Xavier Carter almost ran him down from behind. Don't know if anyone else remembers that play. Xman was fast. Still wish he'd of stayed with football.

If you put a good power back who is decisive and will give and take contact behind a good line (which we are finally building now), he can do a lot of damage in a rotation with one or two other guys who are just as good. He looks like the kind of guy who can take it to a tired defense in the fourth quarter. There will ALWAYS be a role for a guy like that at LSU. Curry may not be a star, but he’s going to get solid PT throughout his career if he stays healthy.

He’s slow. He seems to have great vision, though. I like the way he runs. He looks better than Williams, but he won’t make us forget Guice. His lack of speed will prevent him from being a great back, but he looks like a solid SEC back. Reminds me of Justin Vincent. Good get.

No way that guy runs a 4.5. A 4.7 is more like it. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. There are plenty of guys playing RB in the NFL who run 4.7. The most important thing a RB can give you is vision and acceleration into the hole. If a back does that well he’s a keeper. If in addition, he has speed, then he’s a great one.

Correct. Curry ran a 4.68 at the LSU camp but reportedly was at 90% due to an ankle injury. I would guess he's probably in the 4.6 range when healthy. Jeremy Hill ran a 4.66 at the combine and he played a lot faster than that.

“Curry, who measured up at about 5-11 and 200 pounds, clocked a 4.58-second 40-yard dash”
