High risk/high reward recruit

Could play in the NFL or be a bust due to the mental side of the game.

You're totally right. However, someone has their work cut out for them to get this kid to live up to his potential. He plays with no edge or aggression whatsoever. That's a huge red flag for me from what's supposed to be a 5* DL.

I watched him against Holy Cross and Catholic. Other than his size, he doesn’t stand out. He was going up against MUCH smaller lines and was rendered useless in both games.

He’s a project from what I saw. Maybe the light comes on in college I guess.

He's a guy that you would rather have than for him to go to a rival just in case he pans out. I don't think he'll come to LSU regardless, but I've been wrong before.

It’s not about him. The real prize is his younger brother. He got that dog in him. 26’ recruit. 6’3 225 lbs as a sophomore.

I haven’t heard one remotely positive thing about his play other than he’s impressive in his uniform. Would it surprise me if all of a sudden fans on this board started celebrating if we landed him? No.

Note- this is not a knock on the kid. I’m teasing about the tendency of fans to act like a guy is no good when they don’t have him then totally flip and celebrate when they get said player. It happens every year.

Did you see the way he was shoved around by Catholic’s OLine?

This... him pushing his date back may also mean he's getting processed by a few of his current offers.

Has he played any oline in high school?

Seems like a great body for a tackle

My take on his film is that he has long arms and uses them well to stay off blocks. He also showed pretty impressive speed for his size to either lung at or run down a player and make a tackle.

At the catholic game, catholics OL was getting into his chest and standing him up pretty well, turning him into a statue. Once they got in his chest, he struggled to get off blocks. One would think that the #1 player in the state would require a double team and be in the backfield almost every play... he was far from that.

He moved from outside to inside and back and couldn't beat anyone. If anything he seemed defeated and just stopped trying to be disruptive.

McKinley did not have a good outing in the Championship game. I think we need to get him. It is about his size and speed. Once he is in the LSU system, the young man will develop. It is all about his potential. Plus he is a good kid & makes good grades.

Not saying we shouldn't try to get him, but what makes you so sure he'll develop just because he's in our system? Health aside, has Maason Smith, or any other highly-rated DL been developed here in recent years?

Ahmad Breaux got the double treatment every time I actually paid attention to the DL in Rustons game vs Zachary, and he did his job. I was actually watching the 1v1 with Green and Anding the most tbh

Brings back memories of Ishmael Sopsher. The same things were said about him. He is a good talent but he takes plays off. TD was definitely correct about Ish though
