That’s been the expectation for most of his recruitment.

Just updated the original post with some updates on Cenac.

Sounds like Houston is the team to beat.

Houston has a couple of New Orleans natives on staff, likely spearheading the recruitment.

Nothing has really changed much just hearing the same things. Sounds like a December commitment, but he probably won’t sign until the late period. Houston has felt good as of late but LSU is still firmly in the race.

Chris Cenac will be committing tomorrow. I don’t think anybody really has an idea on what he chooses but his recruitment should stay open until spring wherever he goes. If I hear anything else I will update

no Houston was willing to pay the ridiculous amount of money in NIL for him to come.

Crazy thing is that our offer was supposedly the highest. Haven’t confirmed it yet but sounds like we didn’t get outbid.

if you were one of the best basketball players in the country and had the choice of houston or lsu, you'd be silly to not pick houston.
i can't blame the kid or be mad at him for picking the better program

Are we sticking with 3 guys in the '25 class or are we going to add another?
Posted on 11/26/24 at 5:58 pm to manonwheels28
They’re comfortable with the class as it is right now. Brune reported that we could take the money we offered Cenac and go shopping in the portal this offseason for some high end talent.

Portal needs for LSU and who will stay and leave? We need a full basketball thread on here for recruiting news, basketball news in general? Will someone make one?
Posted on 11/27/24 at 10:50 am to LSUFan2700
I’ll definitely start the portal thread back up when the time comes but it seems like we’re done with ‘25 recruiting. I’ve seen we’ve got some visits already getting set up with ‘26 recruits. After the new year I can probably get a thread started for that cycle but for now it seems like the focus is on the season for the staff.

What does it take, though, to be the better program? It seems like you need the players to be the program…
But you also need the program to get the top players. How do you get the players like Cenac if you aren’t a desirable program? But how do you get the program where it needs to be if you don’t get guys like Cenac?
I imagine investing into the program infrastructure could help, but LSU, at least with the latest local 5 star, hasn’t been able to do what they need to do. If not now, maybe after consistent winning? It’d be much easier to win consistently with 5 stars aboard (assuming they pan out).
Like it was said earlier, maybe we take the money earmarked for Cenac and spend it in the portal. But then again maybe the same thing happens and we find ourselves in a vicious cycle
