Hey Tyshawn, where you going to school? “Oh I don’t know it’s down to Grambling, ULL, or Houston. I haven’t decided yet.” lololol, It must be hard to decide between the NCAA runner-up or ULL? Hahaha, you have to be Tyshawn’s dad. Don’t do this to him. I’m sure he is a good kid. Congrats to him on his ULL commitment. Be happy for your son, family friend, or whoever Tyshawn is to you.

Whatever it takes for him to be right, just give him his flowers and tell him he's right so he can stop posting...hopefully forever, but I doubt it.

There are PLENTY of reasons to criticize McMahon's performance at LSU.
This isn't one of them.

I respect you going to bat for this kid. I’ve seen him play a lot of ball. While I understand LSU is NOT among the elite in the SEC…not even middle of the pack…he is not a take. ASH has been good enough on the wing to be dangerous in the playoffs. Despite his size he does not make them notably better in the post.
He can rarely play more than half of the game. Not because of foul trouble. Not so much conditioning either, though that’s an issue too. But he becomes a space cadet after a few minutes and is a straight liability. I understand his desire to be a wing…where he’s most likely to play at the next level, but he’s not good enough to be ball dominant. If Coach Lance let him play wing only, he wouldn’t start. Lance is a Peabody product and likes up-tempo and quick possessions. He normally has the horses, pun intended, to do it.
What I will give you, is that if ever there was a glimpse of what he COULD be, it was when Ahmad Hudson and Ruston came to town. I’ve never seen him play so well and that game was a showcase on both sides. He got pushed around by Hudson but Hudson couldn’t do anything with him either. He may yet prove to be the caliber of player that makes it to a P4 or one of the more successful “lower level” teams like Houston or UConn. He needs to start where he is though. I don’t believe Houston would have actually taken him either unless they miss out on Josh Howard’s kid in the DFW who IS a polished wing player and is just good at everything. If he grows his game I’m sure this board will look back and consider this a big miss.Right now, the evaluations are on McMahon’s side. From the HS games to AAU to the slab, I just don’t see the consistency in him at the positions he needs to play at his size to warrant this kind of discussion and all of the basketball minds around here agree. Still excited for him because it’s not like UL is a bad move for him. It’s a great opportunity.

Agree with this take. He isn't SEC caliber, not even close right now. We played him twice over the past 2 years and saw very little development during that time. He has potential though..

This idea that Louisiana players or legacy sons of former players should be must recruits is wrong. They should be recruits if they are ranked nationally. No coach can win with inferior players and sentiment or loyalty to state does not win games.
