Quote from National Scouting Director Steve Witlong
quote:

"What I saw from Marcel Brooks today, he's arguably a top 10 prospect in the country," Wiltfong added.

Paraphrasing to not step on toes:

He was a major presence on the edge of the line of scrimmage in the first day making a ton of plays in the backfield both rushing the passer and in the run game. Marcel said he thinks that at LSU he’ll be used like Grant Delpit, all over the field.

If LSU's 2019 recruits were rated as high as they should be, LSU would probably be ranked number 1 in the recruiting rankings. Brooks should be a 5 star, McCallum should be a 4 star, Thomas Perry should be a 4 star, Joseph Evans should be a 4 star, Cordell Flott should be a 4 star. Typical of players that sign with LSU, many are underrated. One reason I don't like recruiting services ratings is because it is a popularity thing. I mean, if bama had offered McCallum, after his Miss versus alabama game performance, he'd already be a 4 star. But since Nick didn't offer these 'experts' on these services figure he ain't no good.

I get what youre saying about our guys and i agree somewhat but we still wouldnt touch #1. Go read all the stuff from both all and star game practices and youll see that Bamas kids are performing very well. Alfano will be #1 on Rivals and 247 when the final rankings come out. Only thing derailing that kid is injuries or himself. (Hes got a lot of character stuff from the past) Hes freakish on a Myles Garrett level

You realize that Marcell was barely a top 150 prospect when he committed to LSU and he’s in line to be a top 10 prospect?

Used like Delpit? I thought he was coming in as a LB?

That is per Orgeron after we received his LOI

I thought he was a rush LB but seems he may play S.

Either way it seems he’s gonna ball out.

He’s got a big WR body right now. I’m thinking he’ll play more traditional LB after he gains weight.

Delpit out the gate, then as he matures and fills out he can transition into a Chaisson role.

Delpit plays a ton in the box. They’ll likely get him on campus and see what turns into. If he stays in the 190s then he’ll be a safety. If he gets to 225ish then he’ll likely turn into a buck.

Or what JaCoby is doing right now. Playing between LB and Safety. He stepped up the last few games for this team and I think he’s officially turned the corner.

Man if LSU can get Sopsher and another DE then sign a rush OLB this team will be flush with depth and talent just about everywhere. Just think if White happens to come back. We could potentially have White, Delpit, Beooks, Stevens, Chassion, Phillips, Stingley, Joseph back at safety, Fehoko, Lawrence, Sopsher, Ika, Logan and the rest of guys who redshirted all back bigger, smarter, stronger, and hungry knowing that it takes even more work from everyone to beat the best. Having Chassion out this year has taught everyone a lesson. There has to be someone developed behind Chassion. The coaches knew it but now the players will know that they need to be ready to start bc at anytime they might be in there, so they will work harder than before.

The OL will be as deep as its been in a while and they played really well today. We will finally have 5* talent pushing 5* talent and that's how you get the very best on the field making plays. Burrow will have an entire offseason to build relationships with everyone like he has with Jefferson. Just look at what Chase was doing today with a few practices.

Not only that but fresh OLman who will push the older guys to be the best. Hopefully Rosenthal will take his oppertunity and make the most of if. I think Wire will be ready and Cregg loves him as a future all star LT. We will be deep in the backfield again and have TEs who are healthy. We need the corners to step the frick up and might even need to go get another transfer but someone who can play ball.

Leadership needs to take a similar us against the world mentality into the offseason and work even harder because Texas will bring it next year and we need to start the year off with a huge away victory. Ensminger needs to get to work on the RZ play calling and give Joe Burrow more autonomy within this offense at all times. He's showed over and over that he can thrive running the offense. Let the man run a legitimate RPO offense and watch them all shine. I would go as far as letting the players come up with plays they all like in the RZ and work on that all offseason together.

Work on little signs and signals when in the scramble drill. Work on jump balls and how to time them then come down contested. It's time that this team takes it upon themselves to get better and be the best they can be because I think they have the talent to go toe to toe with anyone and especially Bama IF they want it bad enough. The same goes for the coaches, they need to be telling these guys this stuff over and over. Hang championship banners up and SEC champ banners up so they get used to seeing it and they start to prepare, workout, practice and play like it. GT
