what about us ?

Brandon Lafell, Dwayne Bowe... soon to be beckam and landry ?

shelf life for a non-elite receiver is like 3 years.

true and noted ... I think this season under Cam will make the difference. Chi's build and style is more in our mold than anyone else. Couple that with a need for a WR, starting job open and the fact that he's visited multiple times... I think we're in the driver's seat but need to fasten the seat belt.

the only thing that makes me confident in dupre is that he basically hosted several other commits....adoree being the one that sticks out.
Not TRYING to be negative, but bears pointing out...

Adoree might want to play with Williams, Williams pulled the surprise UCLA had, UCLA is on Dupre's list.

And the SoCal schools always have the draw of southern Cali.

BUT...

post the game brandon was asked about malachi and he said "We have nothing to worry about"
that is important to me. I'd trust that more than anything said to media or even Staff right now.

UCLA is loaded at WR and until he visits .. I don't see them being a serious threat. Could change though

There is also the angle that he knows brandon harris and is good friends with all of lsu's commitments including fournette

I totally agree with you and think LSU is the favorite.

But with that being said who knows..

I will say that that when a school offers as many recruits as LSU did there will always be some that gets away.

If people are basing their thinking on the fact we lost some in state talent just look at the OOS absolute studs we pulled in that WANT to play for LSU....

If people can't see that then they are doomed to never be happy about anything in their lives..

If National Signing Day was today than Malachi would be at LSU. FSU is a threat and he loves the thought of possibly playing in California, but Malchi loves LSU and specifically Les Miles. He should be a tiger.

I know there are reasons we missed on some of our targets and this is not based off the UA game. It goes back to the Joe McNight year. We've lost out more than we've won on this big announcement commits.

I agree we have a great class coming in, I'm doubting that.

we missed on tony brown, because we have badass true freshman CBs and Bama has some garbage Jrs and Srs.

Not sure this is the whole story, but plausible.

we missed on Willis because, who the frick knows at this point.

Speedy went to aTm because we have a long history of not utilizing guys the way he wants to be utilized.

Maybe. Not sure what is going on with him. At least it appears he didn't play some of the same games other recruits did.

Dupre is a NFL style WR at 6'3 which we have a history of developing NFL style wideouts and we have a TON of PT that is up for grabs.

There is no question that he can be successful on any of these teams. If he goes elsewhere, it won't be because he feels a better chance to play, play early and prepare to play WR in the the NFL - LSU is as good or better than any other school in that regard.

I am very nervous about FSU, I heard he was friends with Winston who will be back, not to mention the BCSNCG they just won. They have a great offensive head coach who recruits very well and knows how to develop a QB to get Dupre the ball.

I believe he receives playing time on his pure talent alone. That being said why not come to LSU where him and TQ can be the next dynamic duo. If your talented you can be a star wherever you go. I QB are young but talented and Cameron will find a way to get you the ball. Represent yourself and the state by becoming a TIGER.

I have a feeling these comments are said out of lack of confidence post the UA game

It's not a lack of confidence. I just think before the UA game we were overconfident. Now I think most are seeing the situation as we should have the whole time. Malachi is a top prospect and can go anywhere he wants. That should be enough to conclude that FSU is still a serious threat to land him.

I seriously think there is something to the notion that a lot of these guys were leaning against LSU because that's exactly what everyone around them expects them to go. I know that when I was their age I had the same mindset. Still do to some extent.

Maybe the best thing we can do is have some perspective and acknowledge that these guys are amazing and they are wanted by many teams. I think the fact that a lot of us don't respect FSU's ability to land him actually hurts our chances. Didn't Malachi even say that LSU fans should be worried about FSU? I think when we express so much confidence in landing him, they interpret that as taking them for granted.

Unless someone has LSU seeping out of their pores like CG3 was before he committed and TV is right now, I choose to be cautiously optimistic from here on out.
