Free 24/7 article.

quote:

On Thursday, multiple staff members will spend the entire day in Amite making stops not just at Amite High and around the town, but also in-home with two key targets left uncommitted in Louisiana.

quote:

LSU defensive line coach Dennis Johnson was the first to arrive in Amite on Thursday, where he showed up "before the sun rose", one source in Amite told the Geaux247 staff.

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron and defensive coordinator Dave Aranda were then right behind Johnson as the Tigers make their big push for Sopsher, which will play out over a four-day period given he's set to head to Baton Rouge this weekend for his official visit.

For some reason, I just don't care. I wish they would do this with Young or Moore.

not an insider or member, but 247 has an article that the coaches hit MS yesterday. if HC still only gets 1 in home visit, i'm sure that was yesterday for the DL targets.

A win is to get 2 of the 3. It doesn't matter which two, but it does matter that you try hard on all 3. Sopsher is in the state and they can try to get a read on him today heading into the visits from Moore and Young this weekend.

Thanks for the positive responses. I just will be shocked if he commits to the good guys. I am tired of our home boys playing our coaches. to the 19 kids who love the Tigers and weren't afraid to announce their commitment early. I think our future leaders will be from this group.

It’s just funny how you people write this kid off and talk shite about him. Just shut the frick up and don’t respond at all and save your negative thoughts. For those who say he’s gone and don’t want him here are ridiculous. The people running the program seem to think different and are trying very hard to get the young man to LSU. You guys will be the the first in here being cheerleaders and getting excited if he does sign with us.
If you don’t have anything positive to say just keep it to yourself and let the weekend play out.

And yet you think that anyone else is waiting to find out if you care? I don't care that you don't care. I do care that I have to read your drivel to get through this thread about something that most sane LSU fans do care about.

They did. With Young and Moore and Pickering.
Yesterday. All out. Supposed went well, but I doubt Pickering is flipping.
Today is Amite. Maybe you would care more if you paid attention.

I know, bunch of know it all tough guys...
They all know he’s signed sealed and delivered to Bama, yet they don’t really have a clue. So much softness and hurt feelings in this place. It’s like a take my ball and go home attitude.
BayouCatFan had a long post on recruitment of players and the guy worked for the SEC network and a recruiting outlet so I’d listen to what he said over anyone on this board that I’ve seen. In his words, NOBODY KNOWS shite.

Our coaches are busting their asses and doing all they can to close strong, let them do their jobs and support their efforts. The sheeple on here that are positive he’s gone and on the Bama payroll really need to back away from the computer and quit with all the negativity until signing day. If you don’t think those kids are gonna be following what’s going on around here you are mistaken, especially this late in the game.

I would say getting 1 would be a win at this point. With a realistic chance to miss on all of them and be in a pickle at DE in 2020, I would be very happy with landing just 1 of the remaining targets.

why are you so angry all the time?

LSU basketball has won 10 in a row.

the football team just locked up the coach to make sure no rival programs steal him away.

the baseball team is going to make a deep run to Eaux-maha.

so why are you so angry in all of your threads?

Everyone keeps talking about Pickering, Moore, Young, and Ish. Don't forget about Founa. He is a take if others miss out. Pickering is all MSU based on his IG and story during his visit there.

Big, big wknd to sway the mind of Young and bring it home for Moore and Ish. No information other than reading the tea leaves.

Fonua's highlight tape looks good, but I'm still having trouble seeing him on the line as a DL. He seems like a tweener 3-4 Sam or buck OLB or a 4-3 WDE.

Whatever he is, I think it's evident that he's a fallback option, if we miss on all the DE's. Not a bad fallback option, but I think we'd all rather hit on one of Ish, Young, Moore, Pickering, Fuller, etc.

it's funny how you don't care about freedom of expression. You sound like you'd be happier in a communist country. If you can't handle people who disagree with you, why don't you go climb into your safe space under your bed.

Hot take incoming...and I know at least one poster who might blow a gasket if he reads this...

But if we get Williams, I'd take Fonua over Hampton, unless I was 100% positive Hampton is making it to campus.

I agree that Fonua doesn't completely fill the gap on the defensive line, but I think he's a really good player that could be very valuable to us.

So, I'll go something like:
Williams
Lee
Fonua

And then as many of the following to close the class:
Parker
Young
Moore
Sopsher

And if we don't fill the class with the above, I'll go:
Randolph or Hampton

After that, I'm saving spots for the future.

I really do still want Ish. I never gave up hope. I’m not saying we land him or anything, but I hope. I won’t be mad either way at his decision though.
