re: LSU Women's Basketball Recruiting Thread: 2024 & 2025

While the Poole situation in the backcourt is disappointing, we’ve got plenty depth there with the emergence of Janae Kent as a viable reserve. I’m not worried about HVL developing into a damn good PG. She’s an All-American. That’s what AA’s do. She is developing well into our floor general. However, it’s frustrating because Poole did bring back such valuable big-game experience in the NC run.

But with Smith healthy or no, we need Reese. We can’t be depending on Del Rosario for big and crucial minutes come SEC play. We had the luxury of bringing her along slowly. But right now, she’s a lot closer to Hannah Gusters than Aliyah Boston as a giant defensive stopper and a force in the low post.

Question: I know it’s the knowledgeable fans posting here, but why are we relegating general WBB talk to the recruiting board/thread? This should be on the Rant. WBB is a legit and popular LSU sport. frick the morons and their “who cares” posts.

I agree but sometimes it gets lost amongst the 500 "Why isn't Matt House fired yet" threads every day.

And it’s 100% obvious ADR is fully committed. Look at how much she skimmed down since getting to campus. She will look dramatically different in another year on the court

I’m not linking it or looking for it, but someone posted on the rant that Scarborough tweeted that AR will be back in uniform tomorrow vs VT.

If true, my guess is she won’t start but will be worked in gradually and play about 15-20 minutes.

I would think Poole will attend school at LSU this spring and then transfer next year.

Losing Smith and Poole is a big blow to depth. And who the hell knows how the AR thing will turn out? I hope not, but more drama would not surprise me.

The rumor now is Kateri gave a scouting report to another school..Yikes if this is true. Alexis Morris is now tweeting about it. She was on TikTok live the other day and let’s just say she wasn’t interested in talking about anything LSU. LINK

Okay, I’m not one obsessed with analyzing tweets but yeah, I’m just about sure Alexis’s tweet: “Who gives a scouting report to the other team?” was referencing Kim’s joking remark that she would not give a “scouting report” in her presser to a Virginia-based reporter present. And the time stamp on the tweet is after the press conference.

Totally agree. She's already better than Gusters, and her ceiling is astronomical. She will be key down the stretch. We really don't have anybody that matches up with Cardoso on SC other than her.


One weakness we have this year, that I don't see an answer for on this year's team... we don't have a fast, elite defender for guards like we did with Morris. Everybody knows Morris was huge for us last year, but her defense particularly on fast guards (ex - Caitlyn Clark) was a difference maker in a few games.

We saw that weakness already against Colorado.

Kateri removed herself from the team for mental health reasons. She may be back on the team next semester or she may not come back at all
