Well, for most recruits I would imagine 'gameday atmosphere' is pretty low on the list. Oregon has a rabid fanbase, top facilities, and Nike at their doorstep. I can continue with playing PAC 10 defenses, being on TV frequently, and possibly being top 3 next year. And let's not even start to compare offensive production last year under current staffs.

ETA: And to answer your question, yes LSU's gameday atmoshere is better, but not as much as you may think.

He had other criteria.

I suggested earlier that he may have been enticed in some part by the culture there, which is way different from Texas and Louisiana.

Its in 'eco-topia' which runs from Vancouver BC down to Carmel, CA.

Exactly. Very liberal friendly, which appeals to college aged kids.

If Crowton had stayed at Oregon, it would have pushed Lache to LSU...

they have a pretty incredible atmosphere in their stadium as far as loudness and the fan getting into it, and could probably put us to shame when our crowd decides to sit down and be discouraged. LS is going to a place where he will fit in perfectly with the offense, so i can't blame him one bit, especially considering the display we put on this year.

This board is to discuss recruits and their abilities on the field, to discuss LSU's needs, and to discuss recruiting news as it pertains to LSU or our competition.

Seastunk made a good decision for him. He was a better fit at Oregon

Well, Oregon was smart enough to get rid of him and the crazy thing is he got more money to boot.

I can't believe what I am reading on this board.

Idaho is where most were based at but I think the largest group has recently moved to arizona I think. It doesn't really matter if they are there, I have never seen them. Eugene is a very cool city and it sounds like it appealed to him. He probably likes smoking weed too and there is no contest there

pretend you are one of the best running backs in the country, and you are from Texas. You are making the decision between LSU and Oregon. Chip Kelly and his staff will be at Oregon for at least the next 4 years (barring anything drastic). You have no idea who the coaches will be at LSU when you are a Jr or Sr and start thinking about the NFL. The safer pick for Lache was Oregon, and he will probably go on to a great career. Would you want to go play RB for Crowton after the way he wasted Keiland and Scott this year? With all of the great backs we had, none of them ran for more than 600 yards. Just trying to look at this realistically.

Lache choosing Oregon basically says a hell of a lot about the kid. For those people who think Seastrunk has prima donna issues, you were wrong. Oregon is a lifestyle choice as well as a good football fit. Yeah, Eugene is somewhat granola and has a large representative of flaky folks but its a very different atmosphere in general to the large football towns of many schools that were recruiting Seastrunk.

Maybe he wanted to actually have a college experience.

The position coach Gary Campbell has also been here for an eternity (in response to the notion that Chip should be here for at least 4 more years...)

Most of that staff has been there for twenty years. The o line coach greatwood, campbell, aliotti. Kelly only brought in a new receivers coach and d line coach. The staff has major stability and Kelly isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Oregon is just a much better fit for him. Congrats to Lache. Enjoy running over those weak arse PAC 10 defenses.
