Yes, 8 months for the state of Louisiana to pressure him to LSU

LSU won the game and played really well in doing so. However, I think "torched" is a bit of an overstatement. Your QBs combined for 208 yards passing and one of those came on a 75 yard TD. There was also a 47 yard pass. Both of those, if I recall, were by Randall and were the result of his ability more so than the QBs. One was a busted coverage on a deep(ish) post and he outran people. The other one was an underneath crossing route that would have been a TD if Barron hadn't caught him.

LSU won the game, but I honestly felt all along it was more due to the 200+ yards rushing you had and the reverse on 4th and 1 than the actual passing "assault".

I like to call that "outcoached."

Collins already has his mind made up per Shea tweet.

Sheadixon Shea Dixon:
Talked w/ Dutchtown 2012 S Landon Collins last night. He said he's already made up his mind - LINK

So your secondary gave up big plays to whoever and your fricking coach got out-coached by our "moron."

yes, but on busted coverages and short pass/long run type plays. My only dispute was that the LSU QBs didn't "torch" our secondary. 208 total yards passing when 122 of those came on two plays does not = torched.

I never said Les is a moron. I actually think he is much better than most non-LSU fans do. He is a big gambler who doesn't mind doing something that the odds say won't work. Doesn't make him a moron, just means he's willing to take chances. I don't think our team was ready for a reverse on 4th & 1 and it cost us. You called it and we weren't ready, so on that play Saban got outcoached. However, the teams are very similar in terms of overall talent and you won by 3 at home. I'd say that is, essentially, holding serve. If we win by 3 this year at home I doubt very seriously I'll be claiming it was b/c Saban "outcoached" Miles.

The fact that you think Miles has to "outcoach" Saban in order to beat him at home by 3 seems to indicate you think Saban is the better coach.

For our QBs is sure as hell does.

bullshite. If y'all win by 1 Bama fans will claim that Saban owns Miles. That's just the nature of fan-hood. Also, it wasn't just the one 4th down play. All game long Saban coached like his nuts were up around his throat and Miles did not. Even though y'all had an offensive that certainly had the maturity and talent to be more aggressive. The bottom line is Saban coached like Saban. He'll always play it tight to the vest.

As for a comparison I think it's a push. They both bring a lot to the table. Bama fans just seem to think Saban is the second coming of Christ himself.

Don't forget the fake punt that Les called and Saban was unprepared for even though he should have expected it consider we had already had 2 fakes up to that point last season.

Don't worry, Nicky won't be there too much longer...

To quote Frank Sinatra, "I'm for whatever gets you through the night". If it helps you to believe that Saban is leaving soon, then by all means please do continue with that narrow line of thinking. Reality, though, would fight back with the following logic:

1) The man is nearly 60. He isn't going to be Joe Pa coaching until three days before his funeral. His is not an age that you "start over elsewhere"
2) As arrogant as I'm sure it sounds, what other college program would he go to? It's like saying he would have left LSU for another college program. That's BS. He would have only left LSU for the NFL b/c of where he had taken LSU. We was building something special and knew it, but he took the challenge of the NFL. That ship has sailed for him and now he is once again building something special at a college football powerhouse. Seriously - what college could you honestly say can offer him something that Bama can not (or that LSU could not if it weren't for the NFL)?
3) Daughter is a junior in college, so I think 2 yrs left is the minimum with 5 yrs being the max and then retirement/studio work. (BTW - I've spoken with the daughter on campus a couple of times. she seems to love it and said her parents have told her their next stop is Lake Burton in a few years - fwiw)

That name should actually strike fear in Bama fan's hearts.

Nick Saban don't give a frick what his family thinks. If you think he's tied to Tuscaloosa because of his family you're delusional.

Fair enough. I should have placed the adjective of "torched" into proper context. 208 yards passing for LSU QBs with Crowton = 375 yards passing for other QBs.

Of course you wouldn't go that far. You are a rational person who doesn't think that the decisions that a person makes relating to one person, thing, institution, etc. automatically predict the decisions they will make as it relates to another person, thing, institution, etc.

You also likely realize that, while very convenient, painting Saban as a heartless monster only concerned with himself is likely not accurate. Sure, like all of us, he has flaws and issues, but I am quite sure he cares for his family and their opinions.

and I am not one of the Bama fans that think he will stay here forever. I am one of those that thinks this is his last coaching job, though. I give him 2-5 years before he's done.

I dont think Collins is sittin down comparing Saban to Cooper. LSU has a great defense, its close to home and hes got a buddy in Eric Reid.

Just seems like the place in my head, but we'll see
