Well that was quick. Terry is going to Texas tech.
Congratulations to tech on the national title next season
ETA: they also just signed an all American infielder from Florida. No need to speculate who wins next season.

Yeah might as well just give them the trophy already by adding in 3 All-Americans on top of Canady & Davis.
In regards to adding a pitcher, they definitely are trying to grab one more experienced arm. They had Abby Dunning from Boston College visit over the weekend but I believe she is headed to Duke. I haven’t heard anyone else they are bringing to campus but with the departures from the team, there are spots to fill.
We have 3 freshmen pitchers coming in, and even though Heavener will grow a lot in the offseason, this will be a very young pitching staff if they don’t add at least one more arm with experience.

The SDSU transfer looks like a really good number two. if even just one of the freshmen can give them a midweek performance we should be fine. Was just getting greedy and hoping Terry was actually considering us.
We need Todd Graves to pull a Texas Tech booster run of sorts.

LSU website got 26 roster up minus freshman signees. A lot of players not listed from last year.
Posted on 6/11/25 at 8:40 pm to oj
all of the ones that aren’t returning have already been announced to have entered the portal except for Abigail Savoy who had to medically retire and Savanna Bedell
I don’t know what’s going on with Bedell as she isn’t officially in the portal

There are 14 players listed right now. Hutchins has not been added. Bedell is nowhere to be found. So that is 15.
They signed 6 freshman for next year...so unless I am missing something, the roster should have 21 players altogether. Leaves room for 1 or 2 more portal grabs to keep a manageable roster number.

They still have Beth.

Tech be tampering
Trying to get Atwood is ballsy as frick.

Ten sources confirmed with Softball On SI that Nelson or The Matador Club also contacted Taylor Pannell, Isa Torres, Dakota Kennedy, Reese Atwood, Kasidi Pickering, Maci Bergeron, Dez Spearman, and Tori Edwards.

There HAS to be some pissed off coach of one of the tamperees who would be willing to come forward with some dirt and snitch on them.

Seems like Weekly, Taylor Pannell is fresh in the portal with a do not contact, and KIP at UCLA are on the verge.

Often, coaches tend to shy away from turning other programs in if they themselves stray from the rules a bit.
I don’t know about KIP, and Weekly seems like a straight arrow.
But one thing you can take to the bank is that Beth is running a clean program. I'd love to see her blow the whistle if she can prove Bergeron and Edwards were tampered with during the season.
And TT appears to be very reckless about all of it. A little research would tell them that Edwards and Bergeron aren't leaving LSU. Edwards comes from a family that values academics (see her brother who graduated from Columbia before transferring to LSU for football) and Bergeron is a Louisiana girl who loves LSU and having her long-term boyfriend nearby.

You lost me at “values education”. We all love LSU but it’s not the academics that separates it.

My point was more that Edwards doesnt seem like the type who will chase the bag if she is happy where she is currently, both athletically and academically.

Obviously happy they rebuffed the tampering but Tech's paying softball players football player money so anything's on the table now IMO. Nobody would think someone would throw away a Stanford diploma for Lubbock but it happened.

Never thought I would have a reason to hate Texas Tech but here we are

I hear ya Tigerbait2010, but you I honestly go back to the old saying "Don't hate the player--Hate the game".
--Tech is doing nothing different than OU has done for years, but just now on a grander scale. Tech softball happens to have deeper pockets now.
--There was an unlevel playing field for OU because of this very reason but with smaller money. They were the only program that had some access to Football Booster money
--The Game (NCAA rules) has to be the arbiter if it's a problem. As stated, it was all within the rules (first steps to addressing begin July 1 with House Settlement rules).
--I struggle with this being such a huge issue in softball when this and FAR worse things have occurred in college men's sports and continue today
--With respect to tampering: Let's be real. How many higher end players do people think jump into the portal in years past having had no contact (direct or indirect) or providing a feel about their opportunities prior to entering. In fact, I can tell you right now every high level travel ball coach I know has helped a kid or two or multiple prior to portal entry.
There is a grey area you play in and there will always be one. How grey and how broad is up to the NCAA and you can't hate on Tech, Glasco, OU, Gasso or any of the other coaches that all do the same thing with smaller wallets.
I just don't want to see this being a bigger issue in womens sports than it is in mens sports when things are even worse there. Let the market play out and other schools figure out ways to compete, but within reasonable NCAA rules that will eventually tighten up. LSU for example has too many supporters not to be able to rise to the competitive occasion.
That article is a fun read, but biggest issue with it is that every single allegation is based off unsubstantiated rumors from unknown sources: "reportedly...", "the anonymous parent added", "Some believe...", "in exchange for anonymity a parent says.. "according to a parent...". Fun read, but hell I could have written that article myself......

Actually there is a huge difference in what Oklahoma was doing vs fat boys crew Nelson,Glasco. OU never sent contracts to kids for 300k in the middle of the season and had them sign them, they were literally contracted with kids that were in the World Series and had no intention on going back to the current school. This is a first in college softball, it has happened in college football but not softball and if you think it has name the players.

Absolutely untrue and your bias shines through again. Maybe it's the Hotshots you had issues with and not the Jones kid given she played for them. But clearly you're agenda-driven. Glascoe and Nelson never sent any contracts as you lie about here. Contracts were provided by a third-party agent---again, within the rules. So is what OU did with Collectives within the rules.
OU utilized the rules that were there in a way that benefited them just as Tech is doing now within the rules. There is always grey that they all operate in. So if you have a beef with the kids taking advantage within the rules take it up with the NCAA. By the way be sure you tell them about the years long issues in mens football and basketball too.
No one has stated this has happened before in college softball--stop making shite up like you always do. It couldn't have happened BECAUSE no one has had the ability to make it happen--that's the point!! And the rules were different before. Stop hating Nelson or the Hotshots or Hotshot players or Jones or whomever you have issues with and look at the big picture that if the men in college sports can capitalize then why can't the women.
Rules will adjust and other programs should step up to compete.

The ignorance is humorous, sure the Matador club and Nelson just started calling random players and offering them money without fat boy Glasco directing them on who to call which is a direct unequivocal violation. They just happened to pick out the best ones lmao…dude you gotta be the dumbest person I’ve ever heard of..I really never had an issue with Jones, I said she wasn’t a SEC player and was proven correct..what team did she go to again? I forgot?
