It was posted here already, I saw it.
What commited recruit would you pass over to pursue King again, who may not commit to you in the end?

Trent also gushed over Myles Brennan at the Elite 11. We'll see. I hope he's right.

Dilfer on David Cornwell who signed with Alabama, left after two seasons. Went to Nevada where he couldn't get on the field and ended at Division II East Central University where he split time as a starter and averaged 62 yds/gm passing.

I have a friend who works for A&M football in the recruiting dpt. under Austin Thomas. Said they are looking at King a lot, but he thinks the 3 star QB (Zach Calzada) they just got is way better. Also said he thinks King is overrated. I even gushed to him how good I thought King was after seeing a bunch of his film, still no budge. TIFWIW

I'm not sold on Johnson or Finley yet, but time will tell how good they will be. Let's see how their senior seasons pan out.

LSU QB evaluation

Watch Max Johnsons film and you will see in most highlights he is running for his life at the snap of the ball. He gets immediate pressure.

Tom Brady can't play that well when he is under pressure. This kid is being put through the fire in HS. Most QB's don't face this kind of pressure until they are in college and some in the NFL and they can't handle it because they aren't use to it. This will make him a much more efficient QB at the next level. Just imagine what he could do behind a good oline that can give him 3 seconds before he gets pressure.

Then he’s ready to play Bama here.

Never know my friend, maybe with this new offense LSU has solved that issue. IDK, we will see.

Good points. Not only is he under pressure, but almost every play is a designed roll-out. His accuracy is probably suffering a lot because he's always throwing on the move.

We'll see how this season plays out, but those clips also show him to be a lot more mobile than I'd thought.

What’s to discuss? LSU has two QB’s committed. The ship sailed with King.

Just because he played mediocre football at a high level and didn't screw up while his defense won him a Superbowl, doesn't mean he knows how to evaluate talent.

The Elite 11 has been at best a total crapshoot on projecting QB success. I've posted the list of their MVP's in the past on here and basically about half of them werent even drafted.

That's not to say King will be nothing, but, you cant put too much weight into that event.

I think that was the one thing I took from his highlights is that mobility is very solid. Never thought I'd see that being the son of Brad Johnson.

Also helps that his younger brother is going to be an elite tight end

I hadn't really thought of that fact, but yes, you are right. I was shocked when I watched his film and saw how quick the defense gets on him. I know highlights don't tell the entire story. But the fact he has made some of the plays he has under that pressure just shows how good he is.
