That is inexcusable. That is Lazy. Coach O showed up at Live Oak, made a commitable offer and left. There is one major problem. The family has no way to contact anyone on the staff. That is pathetic in my opinion and I’m an O supporter.

LSU offers today and is already not doing enough to land the kid

Is it that hard to call LSU and ask to contact the athletics department?

That's not the point. Besides, you think they can call the athletic department and get meatball's cell number?

Not what I was saying at all, I’m making notice of 3 guys who we need to offer, and most likely will pretty soon. They all could end up at LSU. Just making notice of big names without an offer to this point.

Sorry for my lack of pronouns. Bama has been on him since last years camp. He camped at both Bama and LSU last summer. Bama and LSU both have junior days Feb 16. The high school coach may have the information for the LSU staff, but the family doesn’t.

As an LSU fan, this burns me up. I hate to see Bama and Florida outwork our staff for a kid that lives 35 minutes from LSU.

Unfortunately, that’s what i advised the family to do. For the down voter, i advised the family to call the LSU athletics department. I also told him to press the high school coach for more information.

The issue is when you compare the work other schools are doing. Junior day is 2 weeks away.

How many times over the last 8-10 years have we heard a kid say he’s had no contact with LSU until the last minute. Orgeron was supposed to change that. Bama wins recruiting because they outwork everyone.

Joe Labruzzo maybe years ago. I know his son graduated from Denham, not sure about senior. Lionel Turner in the 99 or 2000 class. Not sure of any football guys before that.

I didn't think Joe Sr. was from Denham, but had to look it up, Lockport. The first scholarship athlete from LP I know of is Willie Forbes, Walker '82 graduate. Went to juco after HS and then got an offer from Skip. Ben McDonald graduated the following year. As far as football, I think Lionel was the first. Chris Hawkins maybe second. There were a lot of good athletes from LP in the 50's 60's and 70's that never got any recognition due to geography. I'm glad people are finally taking notice.

I don't have specific examples, but I remember hearing this at least a few times over the last several years.

Once is enough, assuming they're telling the truth.

I believe he said they are being told The Bama offer will come at the Junior Day. I’m hoping he misses it and is at the LSU junior day.

Ben McDonald graduated in 86, the year Denham won state. Other LSU athletes from Denham were Russ Johnson, Jeff Harris, Tasmin Mitchell, Ryan Byrd, Katrina Hibbert, and Caleb Roddy. Bryan Sparacino went JUCO and then to LSU. Clint Earnhart also went JUCO and then to LSU.

The hs coach has the info and if hes not giving it then the family needs to bypass him. The not texting and social media stuff is somewhat inexcusable but maybe they are ready to anp up now.

Unless rules have changed, these kids cant meet with coaches from schools by themselves and its usually with a member of the coaching staffs unless the family is at the school daily for coaches to come in. In fact 90% of the "offers" from schools to kids in future classes are made through a member of the coaching staff. The old "bump" rule which Saban himself had part in the creation. Contact with future kids is supposed to be passing by type contact.

Again im not completely sure the rules havent changed but i havent heard anything regarding it. May be some typical hs type "story growing" stuff with the amount of personal contact invloved here.

Todd and Chad Burks were from Denham and played for LSU in the early 90s. (Chad transferred to Tech). Younger brothers of Mike and Shawn Burks. (4 Burks brothers played at LSU)

I remember a cool picture in the newspaper of Chad and Todd Burks and Shannon Roubique (auburn all-American), taken after the LSU/Au game. All teammates at Denham Springs .
