I'm no O basher but the logic you are trying to imply here is that the real backup plan was to move Joseph to CB if we missed on Surtain when that is not the case. The FACT is that tht pushed Goodrich before doing so. Therefore Joseph is the backup backup plan. Or the worst case scenario. In reality the staff fricked up and no twisting of facts can change that FACT.

Ive always thought the Ponamsky jokes were kind of ridiculous but this post is very Ponamsky like. Its called spin.

Story

Another story:

"She was so happy for me and stuff. It felt like a dream. I never thought I’d get offered as a sophomore and then commit. This has always been a dream of mine to play for LSU. Everyone in my family likes LSU. They’ve got the most people going into the league and when they came back to beat Auburn, I was there. It was crazy and that’s when I knew I wanted to go there.”

“Well, I had to talk with my mom. We started to have that conversation right after the visit after we left to go back home,” Abrams-Draine recalled. “The conversation started there. She asked why I wanted to go to that school, then out of nowhere she said she liked it and she wanted me to go there, too.

“The best thing they said was imagining that you’re running out of the tunnel versus Alabama and you’re the underdog. One hundred thousands fans will be screaming, watching you make one of the biggest plays in LSU history,” he said. “That motivated me. Everyone from Alabama wants to go to Alabama as kids, but I want to be different. If I beat Alabama, then they can’t say nothing.”"

Kid is 6A All-State as a 10th grader. Is an absolute burner on tape. Would love to see this kid in purple and gold.

You are such a cocksucker

I know your little pecker gets hard every time you get a chance to take a shot at coach O

And that goes for all of you other chicken littles in this thread too... only LSU fans would turn this type of thread into a shitshow

Interesting that someone not on the staff would know the FACTS. Especially someone who strains to have any positive to say at all.

The FACT is this kid WAS a 5-star CB and only moved to S to help his team. As a S, and with zero likelihood he was going to Bama, he became a 4-star recruit.

That he be tried at CB first should hardly be shocking to anyone without a preconceived agenda.

After reading those quotes, this kid just made my Top 10 Living human beings list. Just ahead of that guy that saved all those dogs in that fire and right behind that guy that's this close to the cure for cancer

Lol, my man I was told I brought up O. Of course I did, I knew if there was a thread that had anything positive for LSU where it would go. I laid out the bait so they would come out the woodwork.

What makes you think any kid wants to be a freaking back up plan. FACT, SURTAIN Sr. Told coaches that Jr was all LSU two days before signing day. Bash the hell out of me but that's a fact. So why have a back up plan when you hear right from the mouth of the most important person in kids life that he is all in.

If you aren't the kind of person who would do something like that, it's hard to imagine that other people would. That's why you are getting so much resistance here, imho. To play a personal friend like Corey Raymond like that after all those years, and to leave O hanging knowing what's personally at stake for him, after having that personal relationship, is a pretty good indication of what kind of values that family has. I've given people bad news, I've let people down, but I've never intentionally slow-played somebody to inflict damage. Nor would I ever.

Cut out the self righteous bullshite. Who the frick are you to determine who can and cannot follow LSU?
You cite your opinion as fact and even put it in all caps like the village idiot, Peej. You’re inching closer to that same reputation.

Watkins is an elite player period, the film doesn't lie, he's not just a WR he has incredible ability in the open field and separates himself from defenders immediately to score TD's. Joiner was rated a 4 star RB, so , if you are rated that high you must have some talent. But putting these players down like you're trying to do is just dumb, they are both really good football players that could have helped LSU if LSU had decided to go after them, they didn't and that's the end of it, I wish them well and good health in their careers.

Kid is an relative unknown right now I guess that had a really good season this past year. He is a 2020 kid, so he'll def be known by that time when it comes around by Alabama I suspect if he keeps producing like he has. lol

Why do you seem to be so scared of Gumps. Kid said he wanted to be different and go somewhere other then Bama. Also said would be Kool to see LSU beat Gumps in tiger stadium while on team.

What part of my post are you referencing in your post? Nowhere in my post did I say anything about a kid wanting to be a backup plan nor did I post anything regarding the Surtains misleading the staff. My post only referenced the post made by Tiger Ree saying the backup plan was to move Joseph back to CB when it's not the original backup plan. That sir was Goodrich. That is a fact. It came directly from Coach O who said he spent all night on the phone with Goodrich trying to change his mind after we turned him down days prior. I don't know how anyone can say anything else is a fact when the coach said that himself. Joseph to CB was not the backup plan. It was the worst case scenario coming to fruition. The staff wanted one CB and one S and ended with one player filling both spots. If that's not a frickup and worst case scenario(would actually be landing none but in this scenario Joseph was already in the bag) then the definition has changed and I missed it.

I don't bash posters or their opinions. I enjoy everyone's opinions and thoughts and their right to post them. But when a poster comes here professing to have facts that are indeed not facts then it is my right to call them on that just as you are attempting to call me out for sharing mine. When you or anyone else can come with quotes challenging what the head coach spoke from his own mouth on this issue I will be sure to give all the credit deserved. Problem is that cannot be done. Goodrich was the backup plan at CB and we fricked it up. Its neither here nor there at this point as what is done is done but I'll be waiting on those FACTS contradicting the head coach's own words on this issue. With quotes. I'm not looking for any half assed opinions or so called inside info. Quotes to contradict what is on record.

GI take a look at my post history and tell me where I'm a negative poster within positive take at all. I'm far from that. I'm a loyal LSU fan , no matter the coach, that only tries to spread truth and share my opinions on recruiting based on the info available.

As for Joseph and his ranking. He was dropped t a 4* long before Bama was out if the picture. Like a year or so. He was only a 5* in the initial ranking or 2 before the cycle truly got started for his class. He was slotted at S by all recruiting sites and a 4* by all recruiting sites long before Bama wasn't a possible destination. I know this because Bama was in his mind just 2 weeks before he signed. So therefore his drop in ranking had nothing to do with Bama not being his choice. He was a 4* before the all star games and a 4* after, while working at S which is the position all recruiting sites felt was his best position. If he's not a 5* S then he isn't a 5* CB. Not according to the actual rankings. Now how people choose to view those rankings and their merit is a different topic of conversation. For this topic, the fact is you are incorrect about Josephs reason for dropping to a 4*.

How am I scared of Alabama because I said Saban and Bama will be after the kid in 2020 if he keeps doing what he's doing. That's just a fair statement.

Problem is there are too many sunshine pumpers in the recruiting forum.

No, you twat. The recruiting board forbids bashing the program, coaches, players, or recruits. The reason: recruits, their friends, and family read this board and it should not be a source of negative influence on LSU’s recruiting efforts or the recruits.

Recruiting is all about momentum. If a staff catches the right player at the right time, says the right things, then they have just as much a chance as anyone in signing an undecided recruit. But when a bunch of dickhead opinions overwhelm the narrative, as is currently the case with Ranters thinking they can plant their chicken-little flags in the recruiting board, it can only hurt the school’s chances with the player. I’m not saying that it is the sole deciding factor for recruits, but it hurts LSU’s momentum, which can reduce the liklihood that they’ll sign with LSU.

Feel free to smear your self-hating stink all over tRant, just leave it off of the recruiting board. (that’s addressed to anyone who bemoans “sunshine-pumping” on this board)
