It's very possible hootie told our staff thanks but no thanks and our staff asked if they could meet with him one more time before his decision and he and his mother said ok but it's unlikely he changes his mind.
If that happened our staff would absolutely make the visit.
They stayed on LC after his commitment to bama, he even came to campus afterward.
Cam has admitted we are still pursuing him.
The coaches don't give up as easily as the fans do.

As is usual, jrevonte has a valid point. At the very least the staff believes they have a shot. I commend them for staying in the fight, if they had the defeatist attitude of many of those here LSU would be in dire straits.
The point that Im trying to make is that the kid could clearly have told the coaches thanks but no thanks. Im gone over the telephone.

Gee thanks for your input. Are you a new " Board Insider?" If so then you need to learn " Board Insider " protocol. Everything needs to be validated with YGM and Ban Bets.

Great point jvronte. Why would he allow them to visit him if he was bama bound?

I think you missed his point

Why would LC visit lsu after pledging to bama?
Y'all put too much emphasis on shite that doesn't mean anything.
Coaches visit kids that are committed elsewhere all the time.

It's a last ditch effort.
Our staff will state their case.
Hootie will say thanks but no thanks
Everyone will say goodbye and wish luck to the other party
He'll commit to bama

Hootie is not coming, and he is considered a good player not a great player...meaning a bit overrated.

Guys, anything is possible. If you want an optimistic scenario (for which I have zero evidence), here:
Hootie is all LSU. About two weeks ago he's thinking that he'll commit to LSU, but he'd like for it to be dramatic. The problem is that everyone was thinking he's all LSU, so no drama. So he sends out all kinds of pro Bama misinformation to get everybody leaning that way. Then his announcement will be explosive news. Who knows? The insiders, who have been told "Bama" by coaches and family, might be intentionally misled.

Not a bad theory but for me it just doesn't fit Hooties personality. He doesn't come off to me as an attention whore so I just can't see him setting it up that way. I would be happy as hell if he did though

I'm with jrev
Something seems off about all the bama talk. Granted, I may have to eat a big piece of humble pie on the 2nd but I think this kid is lsu bound
If he was truly committed to bama, I don't think lsu coaches would give up, but they certainly wouldn't take a trip if there wasn't a chance.
Jrev would know as good as anyone

Ehh prob a last ditch effort. I'm not to worried though. Last year it was we lost ground in Texas, this year its north LA. Reality is we haven't lost ground anywhere. Plus we got the most important player in north LA this cycle. Brandon Harris. Qbs don't grow on trees here. That is the future of the program. Not a DB. La is loaded with athletes every year, not qbs.
