Taking the rankings from the 2nd day the portal is open is like predicting the stock market at 10:30 am.

I don't think he would be a valuable player in the right situation. And you have to take all these rankings with a grain of salt. Right now Tyrell Ward is 101 and Mike Williams is 133. I think both of those are underrated.

As a side note, Marvell Allen is 136 (4 yes of eligibility since he sat the last 2 seasons with injuries), and Justice Williams is 156.

This thread was supposed to be some sort of "gotcha" but anyone with common sense knew Chest wasn't going to stay at 17. He'll continue to fall as more teams are eliminated from the tournament.

Chest has a low bball iQ. He would be a great piece if all you need is a rebounder at that position so if there is a team out there that has their scoring set but needs a boarder.he would fit into that scenario. People trying to compare him to Emmit Williams are reaching. Having the same motor is about all they had in common. Emmit was a much better scorer and had a higher BBall IQ, We need some shooters and scorers. Collins started to develop a shot and would be great if he came back and got a little stronger. Reed and BMiller will give us 2 post players which we haven't had in a while and VMiller was also starting to get acclimated to the physicality of the SEC, Givens is a ?. He was physically weak and his shot wasn't very good but he started to play better the last part of the season. Needs to put in a lot of work in the weight room and on his shooting but being a freshman I'll give him another year to prove me wrong but MM still needs to sign another SEC caliber PG in the portal. That's one thing he hasn't done his entire time here.

Chest was playing his first year of college basketball this year. Keep that in mind.

I dont think he's a starter by any stretch but he is an ELITE rebounder and thats always a good thing to have. Would have been nice for him to stick around and fill a 10-15 minute off the bench type of role. Maybe he wants to continue to play a lot though and move to a lower level.

I could see him being a really good player in 2-3 years as a junior or senior if he starts to figure out an offensive game.

I have seen a lot of people criticize Chest’s game while forgetting he’s a RS FR. He’ll keep developing at the right place. Look at the interest he has so far.
