Also, Florida’s beam lineup of Lazarri, Thomas, Hurd, McCusker, Wong, and Blakely...shoot me now.

Jenny will find a way to screw it up. She's the new Val, she likely though will somehow find a way to win a national title if that freshmen class remains in tact. When you have rosters that good, at some point the talent will win it for you despite the coaching.

If Florida doesn’t win next year (and the next, and the next) then Rowland should be fired immediately. She has had her teams under-perform year after year. Missed Nationals last season (pre-Covid) and only made Finals this year because they lucked out in their session. Then blew it in Finals. They have the most talent and never reach their potential.

I am thrilled for Michigan. So happy to see a new team win (wish it was LSU). They deserved it.

The judging has got to be addressed. The judges threw out 9.9s on beam for Oklahoma gymnasts with clear balance checks. The floor scoring was stupid all weekend. The bars scoring was basically a dismount contest.

LSU has some work to do. They have great talent coming in so it will be interesting to watch. The coaching needs work. And some of it is as simple as routine construction. It’s frustrating to see the construction of these beam routines. Watching a gymnast have to dismount floor with an E pass. FOR WHAT?! Vault is always solid for us, even without six 10.0 SV vaults. Bob Moore earns his keep. Bars was tough this year but they did do about as well as I could hope at Nationals. Sami’s fall was clearly a fluke. But again, why these dismounts?!?!? There are other options.

If Jay refuses to make changes then he is literally insane. Continuing to do the same thing expecting different results. I’ll give Gnat more time. We don’t know how much control she had over skill choice and she was always so clutch on beam. I’m sure she can, with time, get through to these girls.

Glad she got to live out her dream going to LSU. Even as a non contributor (scoring wise), she provided leadership and made a positive impact within the program.

Sweet video.

I saw Durante tweeted a thank you out. Makes me think she won’t be coming back for a 5th year.

Good friend of mine is an assistant coach at a PAC 12 program. He told me LSU's talent isn't holding them back, coaching is in particular areas. I'm not calling for anyone to be fired but it would be nice to see them make adjustments coaching wise. We have been doing the same thing every year and they are hoping it just clicks

We know what needs to be done to get LSU over the hump. I’m just not sure the coaches know how to coach the mental toughness of it. There is no excuse for the sloppy execution though. That absolutely needs to be the focus during the off season. How bad do you want? I imagine just as bad as all of the fans, so I want to believe they are going to make some changes.

Also, there appears to be some open spots on the roster for next year. I’m crossing my fingers they are working on either bringing someone in early, a transfer, or maybe even a new 2022 recruit, and bringing that person in early. The tops teams are just going to get better. LSU will have to recruit better to keep up. I’m not saying they are doing a bad job by any means. I just feel like maybe they could be a little bit more aggressive going after top flight talent. Talent that already has amazing execution such as Audrey Davis or Maile O’Keefe.

Her Instagram said “we will be back.” Looks like she’s leaving the door open.

Will also add that she put a winky face after that statement. Could be a clue into her fifth year

Wouldn't shock me. Durante and Edwards were the only kids I thought might come back but both of their bodies have been dealing with a lot over the years. I selfishly want them back, at a minimum for depth purposes too but I understand if they don't.

I am excited about our prospects next year with a great incoming freshmen class and a healthy Kai Rivers. I will just hope changes are made on the coaching end to help us move forward next year. Talent won't be the issue, we will have a lot to work with.

I’m going to post the most unpopular take ever, but maybe it’s just time to move on. They are what they were, and unfortunately that brought LSU to missing out on being on the floor during the final today. I’m worried if any returned that Jay is so married to them that the underclassmen would miss out on valuable experience, ie. alyona should have been in the lineup all regular season. Perhaps she would have been better mentally prepared for last night. Or Dunne.. How in the hell did you not have that in your lineup this year. Jay stuck with the 9.85 routines instead of the higher ceiling.

I’m not sure what was up with Dunne and Erenas. Well, I know Dunne battled Covid. Not sure why Erenas only contributed one event. Thought for sure she’d make the bars lineup too.

I think COVID took Dunne out the floor lineup due to it impacting her stamina but she got over her ankle injury a month into the season and never truly tried to work her into the beam lineup. Jay seemed content with the seniors outside of giving Alyona some reps.

I felt based on this fall, Dunne was locked into the beam lineup. She was our most natural beam worker for all the freshmen, but I guess the coaches saw something different. Hopefully next year she gives us giant scores but they really need to get rid of her switch half. Focus on simple routines that give you consistency, the scores will follow.

Dunne is too lovely to keep her out of beam and floor. Give her skills she can execute cleanly, and it will score high.

I just saw Sami’s post, and y’all are right. I think she’s pretty much saying she’s coming back. I hope she earns her spots. I’ll leave it at that.

Sami should, if she comes back, solely focus on bars. If edwards comes back, honestly only for vault (I love her floor but it should never have scored able a 9.875 - with the way that scoring is there isn’t room for that at the highest levels from your second half of the lineup)

Imagine a floor lineup with Aleah, Kai, Bryant and Kiya

I know all the hype around this freshmen class coming is around Aleah (deservedly so) but I am actually really intrigued by K. Johnson. That is a gymnast I really think will turn heads.

Kai’s floor routine looked to be one of my favorites before her injury. We have been waiting so long now. Praying she stays healthy the next two years.

I’m so intrigued by her as well. I’m thinking she is coming in under the radar.

Texas Dreams just posted her vault from the weekend on their Instagram. Huge full for Bob to work with. It looks like it could be a double.

I thought people were saying it was almost a sure thing that Sami and Edwards were returning. I still hope they do, and I agree that Sami should probably be in the bars lineup only. Maybe she (and Edwards) see next year’s team as having a real shot at the title, and want to be a part of it. I can only imagine how it would be so upsetting to forego your 5th year and then watch your former teammates win it all!

Kaytlyn has always been a big time vaulter and tumbler. Her development on bars and beams has come a long way too though.

I think LSU should push the envelop for 6 10.0 vaults next year. No reason not to when you have Bryant, Kiya, Alyona, Ryan, Aleah, Tatum, Johnson, Arenas, Kai. (Not including a possible Edwards who could return). I mean just because they do a solid full, doesn't mean we should settle. I found the judges rewarded much more for the 10.0 vaults at nationals plus we could maximize our scoring even more. The depth we have on vault is as good as it has ever been at LSU. Bob Moore probably sleeps easy at night with little worry.
