I know this is not about recruiting. I am in disbelief that no gymnast from LSU is a member of the Louisiana Hall of Fame. The only members relating to gymnastics is Kathy Johsnon Clark and DD Breaux. I believe we as a community should nominate former gymnast. I just nominated the first LSU gymnast that I saw in a meet. Jennifer Wood was one of the best Vaulters of all time. What do you guys think we should do to get more representation of LSU gymnast in the LSU sports Hall of Fame?

Is Jennifer Wood a Louisiana native? Rheagan Courville would be my choice for a Louisiana gymnast who competed at LSU...I would think Carly Patterson is deserving too. For some reason I thought Susan Jackson was in the LA HOF

I believe Susan Jackson was inducted in the LSU HOF last year or the year before.

Jennifer Wood is from Canada. She would qualify due to the fact that she competed for an Louisiana School. Susan Jackson was inducted into the LSU Hall of fame, not the Louisiana Hall of Fame.

Way off topic but was wondering if Lexie Priessman has a falling out with some of the other LSU gymnasts. Have been wondering this for awhile based on various observations, then this weekend I noticed she’s not at Sarah’s bachelorette party. I understand people naturally drift apart, just sad to see given how close they were just a year ago and with them both losing their fathers recently.

I wondered why Lexie wasn’t at the bachelorette party, too, but I assumed a conflict in her schedule. I’ve not seen anything to make me think there’s a rift, but I don’t know where/how I would know that. I sure hope not!

I really don't want to speculate on the girls' personal lives... But people grow apart, especially when you're not in the facility together everyday.

I've been kinda waiting for the shoe to drop on the gymnastics program. I had heard a few rumblings in the past week or two regarding some gymnasts who did not have a particularly good experience while at LSU. Looks like Randii Wyrick is the first one (that I know of) to comment on this. She posted quite a bit on her Instagram story last night. The one that stuck out to me was the quote that read "Don't even get some started on college athletics....BOY DO I HAVE MAJOR TEA ON THAT. Just because you go to a "top school" in one of the "top conferences" doesn't mean ANYTHING but being exposed to even more abuse." Another one (which seems to imply club and college) was "One day we'll discuss how "rehab" is set up to get you "back out there" to compete rather than genuinely focusing on your health and a full recovery."
These comments broke my heart even more. I was literally almost in tears. I am so hurt for all the gymnasts who have been coming out the past 5-6 years about abuse related to sports. We need changes across the board. We must protect our athletes.

Just realized Courtney Gooodrich did Sarah Finnegan's old floor routine from her junior year. Sarah and Courtney are not the same gymnasts. Sarah is more graceful, whereas Courtney is more powerful. I was not a fan of Gunter doing Sydney Ewing's old floor routine. Let's all hope that each gymnast has unique and new choreography next year.

Yeahhhhh, I mean, I love D-D, but it's no secret she can be... obtuse. But I'll still be the first to sign the petition for her to get a statue outside the practice facility one day.

There was another African American former LSU gymnast (blanking on her name) who mentioned experiencing racism but she didn’t specify if it was during college.

I see a lot of similarities between Courtney Goodrich and McKenna Kelley's gymnastics, particularly their tumbling. If you HAVE to give her a recycled routine, why give her Sarah's? I also think it's a slight slap in the face to only give some athletes new floor routines. Gunter deserved her own too, and this last season was probably her best shot to compete considering depth issues. Really hoping for some fresh and exciting choreo from hereon out for all routines.

It’s okay. I think at times us LSU fans tend to wear rose colored lens. I know at times for me it’s hard to accept that anything bad can happen within the program. I know me personally I have battled many people on Twitter and other social media platforms defending the program and the gymnasts. I’ll always support these athletes because they are genuinely good people. They sacrifice a lot just to entertain us. They deal with a lot on a daily basis. But now I think it’s time that we realize that LSU is not exempt from racism and prejudice.

^ yes. No program is perfect and we can be both supportive of LSU AND acknowledge that there are areas for improvement.

Instead of nebulous accusations of racism and prejudice please provide concrete examples of it. How are black athletes treated differently and less positively.

You would have to ask the athletes. I was not there. I was only referencing Randii’s comments on Instagram. I think it is naive to think LSU is a scot-free program. Maybe more athletes will eventually come out and voice their concerns.

Quite often what is alleged to be racism and prejudice is what is filtered through someone's personal lens.That does not mean they are right or wrong, but too often these charges are accepted at face value , especially if made by a black person.
Far too often the allegations of racism and prejudice are vague and never supported by specific incidents because they don't have to be, the media never challenges them.
An athlete might think a coach is yelling and pushing her too hard because of race, but the reality is the coach may push all teammates the same way and it is not racially driven.
The athlete may also believe she is not in the lineup as much as she would like due to racism. That is ludicrous when a coach 's job security depends on team performance. When coaches make a mistake in this area it is not due to racism.
There may be legitimate issues, bu hiding behind the vapid systemic racism charge should be challenged.
