Is Annie Beard injured again? It looks like she had some kind of surgery (her Instagram stories)

I wouldn’t panic quite yet. Some of these surgeries are just to clean up from prior surgeries. Hopefully she had one of those surgeries which just require, literally, a few weeks of rest before they are back to normal.

Neff did (I believe) her final recruiting visit to Florida this past weekend (ironically also happened to be the same weekend our football team beat Florida). Hopefully we’ll see her commitment announcement soon

I wonder if there will be any more recruits visiting LSU this weekend. I'm thinking there aren't many spots left since we already have three commits. It will be interesting to see where Neff lands. She certainly has her choice of Utah, LSU OK, Bama, Florida and maybe more.

From what I’ve heard, Neff was only planning on doing five recruiting visits to her top five schools that she’s interested in for college. Yes we have three commits already, but as far as spots are concerned, if Konnor decides to defer a year I believe we only have one more scholarship open pending who decides to take a fifth year. If we have any fifth years, we may not have any more scholarships open for that year.

CGN has Avery Neff and Sophie Parenti as the only two 5 Star recruits (Class 24) that have not committed to a college.

Sorry, but I didn't quite understand your argument. Why would Konnor possibly deferring until 2024 effect the number of available scholarships in 2024? As far as I know, Konnor will start college in 2023 or 2024. So if she defers, there might be a fifth year spot for Alyona in 2023. We already know Kiya will not be here next year and I suspect Kai will not last a 5th year health wise.

How do we know Kiya won’t be here next year?

She technically could but I'm not placing money on some kids quite yet for a 5th year due to their injury history and how their Bodies have treated them lately. If Kiya is feeling up to it and somewhat in a decent place physically, I wouldn't be shocked if she did come back but if her body Is still fighting her then it wouldn't shock me if she called it when the time comes. Of course she could come back in a reduced role (bars) with a focus on things not so much pounding on her body if she is up for it, and work towards her masters.

Its too early to begin predicting that stuff though. Hopefully they all stay healthy and have a good year.

As far as I’m aware, all 3 of the current 2024 commits will be on scholarship. If Konnor defers, she will be as well is my guess. That’s 4/12 scholarships used up from just the freshman class, leaving 8 for: Z. Miller, Drayton, Coen, Finnegan, Johnson, Tatum, Beard and Wilson. If someone medical, that opens up a scholarship spot for one more gymnast (freshman commit, possible 5th year or another athlete on the team the coaches feel have earned it). All that to say: if Konnor defers, we may or may not be out of scholarship spots since the 5th year covid scholarship now count towards our 12 (when they did not this past season, hence why Campbell, Desiderio, and possibly Durante were on scholarship this past season). Until Konnor says anything different, I’m going to continue to live and work under the assumption that she will start in 2024 and we either have 1 more or no scholarship spots left open for 2024.

She already finished her bachelor's and is now doing her master's this year. That's why I am thinking she won't return.

This is just a guess of mine, but I think Bryce does not have a full 4 year scholarship, but only a year or so. Otherwise we would have had too many verbal commits for 2023 last year, since at that time Lilly Lippeatt was still slated to start in 2022. Unless they always counted Konnor as a 2024 kid.

Lilly was supposed to start this year with Annie, Ashley and Bryce. Since she is now at Clemson, she is going to start competing next year so she is a 2022 kid and signed her NLI as such. Konnor had always been counted as a 2023 kid until she announced her deferral. Leah Miller and Brooke Simpson had/have always been counted as walk-ons even before Konnor’s announcement and Lilly’s switch. I believe you may be correct about Bryce’s scholarship and she may have been given it after Lilly’s switch, however it doesn’t not change the scholarship count for 2024, if Konnor defers
