What is the old Florida coach doing since they cleaned out the USA gymnastics. She was a heck of of a coach. Dont know anything about her personally. But she had that machine rolling down there before she went to USA gym.

I agree. Rhonda was a heck of a Coach at Florida. Under her Florida won 3 consecutive national championships. I feel they would have won several more with the talent they had these past few years. Too bad her stint at USA Gymnastics has pretty much ruined her career here in the U.S.

Rhonda is a heck of a coach and really is a quality person. I may be biased because I have known her and her family for years personally but she has faced a lot of criticism and accusations that are not even true but the crazy twitter gymternet crowd runs with it. The kicking and screaming by them eventually led to the removal of her from Michigan. She is currently black balled from coaching at this time due to being employed by US gym during the scandal (which went on long before she even was there).

Anyone unfortunately that is "tied" in in connection with US scandal unfortunately will be hard pressed to coach or do much for a long time unless the opportunity is outside the US. You are now seeing more coached get vilified for "abuse", some rightfully so, others the claims are ridiculous. Its all become politicized.

With the current corona outbreak, looking like our incoming freshmen won't be able to come to LSU in June unfortunately.

I was listening to a podcast earlier discussing the possibility of fall/winter sports. Only one out of the four panelists thought there would be sports played in the fall/winter. Looks like the majority of the people think colleges will remain virtual throughout the rest of 2020. It’s so unfortunate for the athletes.

This really has nothing to do with current topic but when will we erase this thread and start a new one? This one is getting really long!

As for fall/winter sports I will be outraged if they continue virtue college for the rest of the year. That’s ridiculous! You can’t shut down the country forever. The economy will hurt more people than covid. And I would not be spending an obscene an amount of money for my kid to sit home and have class on computer. Just my .02

Yes this is really messing my sports fix up. I usually watch LSU sports every night on line at least. I could care less about pro sports but realize they're all tied together. And I can't see this lasting more than another month or so. I work at the VA in Shreveport and we only have a few cases and are spending millions. Unless things pick up I think its going to fade out. Now that's just my opinion of course!

Can start another one this summer, once we can start contacting and recruiting 2022 recruits. We are at a bit of a stand still right now.

There will have to be a middle ground to reach at some point in the future. Its not feasible to continue this route for months. I hope things die down within the next month to the point where they can slowly try transition back to normal life if possible.

Lori Strong showing her eponymous skill (following a single bar release) in a 1996 away meet against Alabama. She now commentates on LSU home meets, and her daughter Sierra Ballard begins at LSU this fall! By Kent McIngvale

I don’t know why the sec hasn’t announced awards. All the other conferences have. Shame Olivia Dunne couldn’t submit that new skill at nationals.

Saw Aleah F. had surgery in her foot. Best wishes to her in her recovery. Any of the LSU girls end up needing surgery this off season?

She apparently had a fracture. Lucky for her the Olympics were pushed back so she still has a shot, otherwise she would probably be done until LSU, at least with Elite.

Looks like Bailey F will be back next year. At least seems that way based on her latest IG post.

Yep thats the plan. I am concerned heavily though about Caitlin Smith staying healthy, she has yet to have a full season of competing/training in over 5 years due to injuries. Not trying to knock her but its a legit concern. She is one of our scholarship athletes. While Priessman was plagued with injuries, she at least was providing 1 or 2 events each meets with a bars score that always went 9.9+

I found this on twitter on Kiya Johnson's scoring as a true freshmen. Consistency was remarkable.

I bet you we could make Kiya's beam scores even higher if we gave her a easier leap series. Her bars steadily improved as the year went. Looking forward to her next season having Haleigh Bryant to complement her in the AA.

Kiya was a lifeline for LSU this past season. She should be the SEC Freshman of the Year if they ever announce the awards.

Do you know this LA Gymnast that is heading to Alabama this fall?

Why haven’t they announced the SEC awards? Every other conference has.

I like Maggie Nichols and she seems like a really sweet girl but is anyone else tired of hearing about her being the goat and winning all these awards? In my eyes she wasn’t even the best of her class (Kyla gets that). I saw espn’s top 10 gym things of 2020 and her 2 tens they showed for her were not 10’s at all. This will sound very mean but I’m glad her and kyla’s college run is over because I’m tired of the overscoring and constant talk of them.
Okay rant over.
