I think Campbell can be a leader on this team.

I think it could be Desiderio. She seems to be good friends and well liked by all the team and to be coming out of her shell more. Out of the seniors I would say Ashlyn.

I'm praying the LSU workout gym is not damaged with the storm on the way. BR will catch a lot of wind and rain if the storm comes in at Lafayette....always worse on the east side as we all know!

That makes me so happy that Sami is training floor again. LSU is going to be so deep on floor. My hope is that this depth works in their favor next year. Maybe Edney (& possibly Johnson depending on bars) won’t have to do AA every meet. But my biggest worry is still the bars lack of depth. Any updates on bars progress that you know of?

Losing Priessman and Finnegan are major blows on this event

that said, Kai and Kiya are expected to slide in on this event. Kirby will be back from injury and was doing extremely well last fall on bars prior to her injury. Campbell is suppose to be training bars again after having her recent surgery. Dean will train but she should not be a factor outside of being a backup.

Really hope Ferrer can clean up, she isn't bad but certainly has a lot of problems with her toe point and some leg separation.

Honestly the X factor that could be a difference is Caitlin Smith. Bars is her best event by far. Jay said he feels confident he can get a good bars routine out of Smith but we will have to wait and see...

To start the year we are probably looking at

1. Durante
2. Ferrer
3. Harold
4. Kiya Johnson
5. Edney
6. Kai Rivers

I think that 2nd spot will be interchangeable though. Hopefully Kirby or Smith can make a jump and improve the score in that 2nd spot.

There was a question earlier about Annie beard going to the elite meets this summer...well she’s not on the list and her instagram profile now says “level 10” (I think it used to say elite). Happy for her to do whatever makes her happy and healthy!

Aleah and Lilly are slated to be at the upcoming elite meet.

I’m happy for Annie. For some reason Texas Dreams elites stay injured. Not sure what goes on in that gym. I worry Barros will burn out or get injured too. Thankfully Annie’s body won’t be as beat up when she makes it to LSU.

Texas Dreams does a tremendous job of developing kids, JO level and elite. That said there seems to be a big trend with their elites constantly dealing with injuries. To be fair, they aren’t the only ones who face similar issues, there are quite a few reputable clubs out there dealing with the same issues. I don’t think some of these clubs pace their kids correctly nor do they put enough emphasis in the strength and conditioning aspect.

Elite training regimen is tough on the body. One of the big reasons Tori Tatum and Selena Harris dropped back to level 10.

Georgia pulled her scholarship due to all the injuries she had but she will be big time at Penn State. She has looked really good in training over the last few months.

Happy to see her find a landing place, she comes from a wonderful family.

357,I talked to Sarah's aunt at church today. She did talk about the engagement and is moving to OT school in New York and the boyfriend will be working on Wall Street.

Her father has been out of the country with some experimental cancer treatments. Was doing well, but found something today that may not be good. He has doctor appt today I think. He never smoked, never drank, always in shape, and was so good to everyone so that why his cancer is difficult for the family.

She said thank you to all LSU fans for our continued prayers and support.

So sad to hear about Don. I’ve never met him, but I admired him for his strength and just for being there for his children. The Finnegans appear to be really good people. I’ve been following them since 2011 when Sarah was in Elite. I will continue to keep him in my prayers, as I know that God is a healer.

As someone who has gotten to know Don, Linabell, and all of the daughters, I can tell you they are the best of people. Their family unit is amazing. I also continue to pray daily for Don and the family. I know the faith they have as a family and I know that their love for God to guide them through this

Thanks for the update.

Keeping them in my prayers every night, PC is one of the toughest diseases out there to fight against but I know he has a wonderful support system at home and in the community.

Aleah is competing this weekend for possibly a spot in the PAN American games this weekend. I hope she does really well, I know that would mean the world to Don to see her do well. It will also be a nice little distraction from all he is going through.

Yes, she told me about Peru as well. Hopefully she can make the team and the family has an opportunity to go there and support her.
