yeah my bad lol
gotta thank gym reddit for crying about scoring the last couple years to where it has been so low across the board. tonight's meet if it were last year would have been 198.3 and mizzou would've been 197.5 they had a great meet too.

I was happy to see Lincoln finally dialed in on that vault. Hopefully we can see her in floor late this season potentially like Jay has alluded to
One of the more complete meets of the season outside of bars but vault looked post season ready and going 49.550 with no Bryant is scary good

I was also very happy to see the gymternet’s general consensus online is that this was the first 198 of the season. Yes I know Florida did it last week but it was by no means legit and everyone has seemed to be able to agree on that. If we compete like we did last night through the rest of the season and can at least get Kaliya on floor in 2 weeks and get Haleigh back on at least one event by the time we compete against OU, they don’t stand a chance against us

we did a 198 with Bryant only doing 2 events and 3 of Aleah's 4 scores being dropped. That is a scary good.
the depth is crazy if they can just get healthier on floor. KJ back on floor will help so much her energy is sorely missed. Kaliya on floor I am anxious because she might have the best potential routine on the team and we haven't been able to see it yet.
Oklahoma is pretty much operating at full capacity. LSU is operating with 50% Bryant, no KJ or Kaliya floor, and Konnor still working hard on her way back up from the injury.

I agree with everything that has been said - the one thing I will say is that we need to see them replicate the energy away next week. If they can do that, I’ll feel really good about our chances.
I posted this in the meet thread, but I was in there in person yesterday, and seeing Helen Hu’s beam live was really special. If she hits, she should win beam in every meet she is in as far as I am concerned (and she did win beam last night).

I think that also comes down to how they prepare this week. Leading into the Arkansas meet, there was a bunch of snow in BR, people were sick and so they didn’t have the best week of training leading into the meet. Jay and G were especially intentional about how they went about their process this past week leading into the meet which helped them get the desired results. I would also like to add that I think in Kaliya’s case, the fact that she’s now training the double helped her to reign in her power for the 1.5 last night and better find the landing.

Our floor rotation is still holding their own without KJ, but she is sorely missed. It just doesn’t feel like our floor rotations of old. Something is missing - not the execution as much as the routines themselves. We don’t have the fun, crowd loving routines we have had in the past. Even the music is a little lackluster. I do love Aleah’s floor, and Amari and Siera’s are ok (although I liked Siera’s previous floor better). I hope by post season we’ll have KJ, Aleah, Konnor, Kaliya, Kailyn, and not sure who I’d say for the 6th spot. Of course you can never leave out a healthy Haleigh, but I’m not a fan of her routine this year.

Yeah it doesn't feel the same this season but its unfortunate we are not seeing our best lineups due to injuries
I mean imagine a floor lineup with KJ, Lincoln, McClain, Chio/Drayton, Bryant, Finnegan

I just don’t see Konnor being on floor or vault at all this year. I would rather see Kaliyah than her. With kj’s foot being a consistent problem you may not see her at all or just sec’s and postseason season. Lexie’s form is getting much better on bars. I’m concerned with the our mental toughness at away meets. Hopefully Bugs can get them to where they were last post season.
If we get Haleigh back on vault whose spot does she take? I still say kj’s because fulls don’t score good in post season but what do yall think?

My guess for post season lineups:
Vault: Brock, Finnegan, Lincoln (double or 1.5), Drayton, Chip, Bryant
Bars: Jeffrey (she’s more than comfortable in they lead off spot), Cowan, Finnegan, Chio, Bryant, McClain
Beam: same as it’s been the last few weeks
Floor: McClain, Chio, Lincoln, Johnson, Finnegan, Bryant
Obviously those orders sans beam might change but that’s my personnel guess

I personally don't think we get McClain back on floor this season. From Jay's interviews it sounded like that's the last event to get back. She is starting some vault training but we probably have enough depth on that event.
Also I love a lineup with 6 10.0 start values, but I genuinely don't think the coaches put Brock first. She is a great athlete but hasn't been the most confident throughout her career on that event and Jay was just talking about how KJ really starts them off super strong with great energy for vault and it sets the tone for the rest of the lineup and meet. So even with KJ's full, I think that will still be in postseason lineup.

While yes in the PAST, Chase hasn’t been the most confident on that event, she has really shown us a different side to her this season thus far in her approach and attack on the event. ALSO, aside from KJ, she does have the most experience leading off that event, as she sometimes did so in her freshman season and she is a much different gymnast and person now than she was then.

You also missed the part of his response where he said Zeiss was ready to go as well (indicating his intent to have a lineup of 6 10.0 vaults come post season) but opted to put KJ in that spot so she could get her confidence built back up again after being out the entire month and after having dealt with a lot of hard things in the fall SO THAT she can be ready mentally to go for us on floor later in the year. If she does lead off the vault lineup once haleigh is back, who do YOU think comes out, because right now, that lineup is as solid as if not more solid than any other team this year.

Who would you put in that last spot then? IMO I don’t think it should be Amari as she has been hit or miss on the event so far this year

Here’s a question - did they tweak Konnor’s beam and Amari’s floor this week?
Specifically, for Konnor, did they take out her aerial at the end and replace it with a three leap combo?
For Amari, it seems like they might have revamped her leap series and gotten rid of the wolf turn?
Or maybe I was just imagining things…

I would say take out chase or sierra on floor once kj comes back. See who’s warming up better but I say chase because her leaps are better than sierra’s. I would actually have to see Lincoln on floor before I could say about her. Also I hope if he’s going to get her in he does it soon and doesn’t wait until the last minute. I agree about beam. That’s the lineup. Bars I don’t know if they will change it with Lexie getting better and I imagine that would be Haleigh’s last event to come back. I am more than happy with our vault lineup with or without kj in the post season.

man even gym reddit is laughing at how overscored Florida is.
Gators are gonna get a reality check once post season starts. They are not on LSU or Oklahoma's level.

If we had the judges from last year, there would have been a lot of tens.

Amari’s floor routine was tweaked in Arkansas because of her struggles with the wolf then the meet before
