That was a big night for sure but I think the Climb started way before. It was through all those years of injuries when Haleigh and then Aleah were freshmen. They really learnt to compete and to hang tight together as a team and trust in each other.

Anyone know how we can watch the meet tonight? Thanks!

Florida scoring is just plain laughable! The vault and beam scores are just silly stupid.

that was a trap meet, but man very sloppy and just unfocused all across the board.
was probably the worst floor rotation I have seen LSU do in years that didn't have a fall. Just no focus. The floor lineup and order was questionable from the start. F around and find out, they found out.
Need the group to give a rebuttal next week. You got knocked down, now get back up. The Seniors we know can do it they have spent their careers coming back, but the underclassmen it is their moment to rise to the occasion after adversity and make a play.

Yes the meet suck but Lexie had a great meet! Especially her exhibition on beam. She kept her cool, for the most part, while the crowd was going wild. Our other girls did worse with no crowd noise. Her bars looked great. Her vault, normal. They should change it to the tuck version. What the hell was Haleigh’s score on beam? 9.7? Did I miss something?
They may need to give chio a break from AA. Her frustration is effecting her gymnastics. Olivia’s floor looked terrible tonight. Is there a reason we can’t try Leah on floor, or Kathryn, or Kylie?
Im just really frustrated right now especially with how grossly unfair fla got scored. Side note glad we didn’t Selena, she seems toxic and like a diva.

I wouldn't worry about over scoring elsewhere. We have bigger problems than worrying about what juiced scores Florida are getting.
Gotta figure out how to get these girls locked in, because last night was so sloppy. Yes some of the judging was way off like I thought Zeis' bars was under scored as was Bryant's beam. Brock's vault also I thought was a 9.95-9.975 range. Then again, I thought Kaliya's vault was a 9.775 and was way overscored and she still looks wild so it all evens out in the end, ya know?
great news is it is a new month soon and there is still plenty of time to correct. Natties aren't won in January, but what they do next is critical.

Redemption is needed come Friday. Missouri will be focused as will Kentucky the following week on their turf. .

Ugh @ Kentucky is usually a wonky meet as well for us. Hopefully we got that out of our system.

We have rarely fared well when competing at Kentucky with the judging and it being home turf. The team put themselves in a stressful situation this past weekend (presently) to get better road scores going forward. They have the Sprouts Meet which is one strong road score but will need several more. I was so pleased that they started the season with 197's and hated to see the 196.6 creep back in this past weekend. Some of our veteran team members lost top scores that we are accustom to having whether it was due to judging or mistakes. The judging is still a hot mess and lacks consistency throughout the conferences.
We know that LSU has the talent to do great things. As someone has said they just need to focus and pay attention to details and sticks to remain as one of the top teams.

Not a great meet from the team but I guess good to have one out of the way. Mistakes from underclassmen I don't really mind as they're finding their feet but there were too many errors from the upperclassmen.
I do feel like our depth is really being tested with all the injuries and both Aleah and Kailin are cracking a bit under the pressure of AA every week. Kailin is amazing but still a freshman. Even Haleigh and Sarah Finnegan didn't do AA every week as a freshman. Aleah didn't do AA for most of last season either.
On the positive side I liked seeing the exhibition routines in the Arky meet. Roberts vault needs more work but has potential for the future, nice form. Tatum very laboured unfortunately and short on every handstand. Leah Miller actually not a bad floor backup routine, not the most difficult of passes but 3 pass routine and not much by way of built in deductions. Had it been in lineup for the meet it would've counted. And Lexi on beam, not a good angle for form, but she shows good composure.

Mike Smith, LSU Voice weighs in on the Arkansas Meet.

beam: too many road nerves. Gave away far too many wobbly tenths to be championship worthy tonight. 9.75 from judge 1 for HB is criminal.

Not to make matters worse or anything like that but the judge actually threw a 9.7 for Haleigh. Not a 9.75

Judge 1 is either biased or not on top of judging. It is sad when teams get stuck with this type of judges. Florida's 198 this weekend rocked them into second and we dropped to third. Utah is getting good scores also and nipping at our heels. Missouri beat Kentucky on Sunday with a 197+. They will challenge LSU this weekend. Helen Hu has already received a 10 and 9.975 on beam.

If judged fairly, we would have probably been at a 196.8-ish which is not where exactly you want to be to close out the month of January but it is ok setbacks happen; that is sport. Just don't want judging to prevent accountability from happening,
Judging isn't to blame for floor team and beam team being disasters last Friday. That is on both the athletes and coaches.
The floor team right now is living off of the rep of last season. I get it, there are injuries and I am not saying rush injured girls back not at all. The current lineup is capable of putting up a 49.5, but they are under performing and their mistakes mount up.
The sky is not falling, but it is getting close to gutcheck time. I trust Jay is going to push the right buttons and get them to lock in.

IMO Sierra and Hayleigh's beam was under scored. The floor rotation did not look like LSU. Hayleigh's performance was mostly her usual but everyone else had glaring mistakes. I just do not want to see the team cave on the road with NQS starting in a few weeks. Jay will get them back on track as I am sure he was not a happy coach with the results.

I like Garrett's approach to the meet at Arkansas. And I also like how he gives more detail on whats going on at the gym and shares a little bit of his personal opinions on some things.

Another bright spot from the press conference was them saying they were going to start trying the double with kaliya again.
Posted on 1/31/25 at 7:50 pm to LSUgymfan420
scoring already low. Brock should've been 9.5 and Kaliya a 9.975 if not a 10. it would have been a 10 last year.
hell of a vault rotation. hell of a response.
