re: LSU Gymnastics Recruiting Thread (2024 and 2025 Recruiting Classes)

All I am saying is that he cannot advocate for a proven abusive coach to the press and not expect discussion/backlash from the gymnastics community (gymnasts, coaches, and fans), especially in the aftermath of Karolyis and Nassar. This discussion will follow Hezly no matter where she lands, with none of the controversy being of her own doing but her father's. Very unfair to her.

This thread has always been one of my favorites on this site because generally the discourse has been focused on the sport and its athletes. Points have been made in recent posts related to Rivera’s family. Fine, but let’s honor the integrity of this thread and return to the sport and its athletes—current, former, and future.

quote:
There is no better person that we could have next to Hezly right now other than Savannah. She is wholly equipped to tell the differences in culture from UF to LSU
That is a great point! I’m so glad Sav is here, for so many reasons!

Discussing a parent's support of an abusive coach is not a threat to the "integrity of this thread." The integrity of the sport is more in question. I don't think that Henry's comments on MH should have a place in the sport, but, like I said before, his opinions could have changed. I have not nor have I seen anyone else on this thread personally slander or attack their family, so it honestly feels like a cop-out to allow him to advocate for MH on the New York Times while a person like me can't write a low-impact post on a recruiting board. As long as the discussion is civil, productive, and related to recruiting, why shouldn't we be able to voice our opinions?

Looks like Zoe won’t be available in near future

Why is she not available?

She just had surgery. Believe she had some shoulder and elbow issues coming into LSU. May have flared up again
Don’t know timeline to return though
Praying for the best

When will that girl get a break? Hoping for a speedy recovery for her!

Hopefully this fixes the problem and she’s able to fully compete for the 4(!) years after next.

I said this on here back on May 29. I had heard whispers that her shoulder wasn’t getting better. But they were hoping that rehabbing at LSU would make it better. I held out hope but I knew it was coming sooner or later. So sad for her, especially since opted out of surgery earlier in the year.

Hopefully the surgery can fix this issue for good.
I know we still have a lot of talent who will make an immediate impact day one with the rest of our freshmen class so I know we are still in good shape but sad Zoe has to go through all this

Evey Lowe just committed to OU
Surely those scholarships are close to being all gone…

Most likely at this point. I’m not mad about this commitment honestly. I never saw her as a Tiger. She seemed more like a Razorback to me personally but happy for her nonetheless

I was shocked lsu even hosted her tbh. Good gymnast but wasn’t on the list of priority who I knew lsu was going for. She will do well under KJ, she has talent and KJ develops well
I am hoping for Duke, Hezly and one of those other elites to compliment them.

I’m thinking Dulcy will be the last one Jay is pushing to get. I know Zoey enjoyed her visit (at least it seems that way from her IG) but she gives off Alabama vibes for me personally

Dulcy would do well at LSU. I can see it and they have recruited her pretty hard in the recent months.
I don’t think Hezly decision will be much longer now that all the visits are wrapped up

I see Evey exactly where she committed to. Another Oklahoma bot. I don’t necessarily mean this in a bad way just that all their gymnastics looks the same to me. None of their gymnastics seem to stand out or have a different personality. Maybe that’s just me. I definitely can’t see Zoey going to ok, take from that what you will. Dulce I’m unsure of but her and Haley have been liking all of our girls instas. Presley hasn’t liked anyone’s or any schools as far as I can see. She is the biggest question mark for me.

Presley has been liking a bunch of LSU and OU stuff. I just don’t understand their scholarship situation. I’d have to do the math on how much they sincerely have left. I know LSU was being more cautious this class with commits and being more selective than usual. In the end like we already know it comes down to landing hezly and a piece or two to top it off. Hope we hear some good news soon on that end

Sad about Miller being out. Recovery time seems pretty substantial. Hope she will heal well. Luckily we have a lot of depth this year and tons of talent on this team.
