I agree with you 100%. I think not only do the optics hurt but also that we’ve been losing to Bama in the trenches and that’s been our main weakness. I agree with our staffs philosophy here. People criticize Ishmaels work ethic but I’ve seen him dominate the best okineman in the country at times. Including Kardell.

Assuming Dreshun Miller decommits:

1. Devonta Lee
2. Siaki Ika
3. George Pickens
4. Jay Ward or Raydarius Jones (Probably Ward)
5. Surprise DE flip (Moore, Handy, Pickering, whoever)
6. Not sure on this one. I could see Nakobe Dean here

And I still think Sopsher goes to Bama. Felt that way for a while, even with the Jeffrey Carter, Christian Harris, and Daxton Hill flips.

So exactly the same just not the sosphers?

That’s very realistic. I’m hoping the family angle wins out.

Nobody thinks Carter to Bama means Christian Williams flips to us?

I agree. I'm for taking him and his brother.

Who knows. It might, but I'm not gonna count on it.

Possibly but it’s gojng to come down to priorities. There’s quite a few guys on our board ahead of Williams at this point. I think if he wanted in, the staff could make room.

Nick will pull a spot from a commit if a better one wants to commit. So to say they don’t have room for highly rated guys seems far fetched

Yep. Ole Miss landed Robert Nkemdiche by taking his brother.

This is untrue. Denzel was at Ole Miss well before Robert was even a major recruit. That was merely a lucky situation for Ole Miss.

Look at his class. His lowest rated guy, outside of the kicker, is a 4-* RB.

Nick is going to sign up as many kids as he can in December so he can look up the remaining studs and start on 2020.

Nick typically processes kids early on. A large portion of his clas is signing in like 2 weeks.

We will be shooting ourselves in the foot, if in three years Sospher is a projected top 5 pick, and we’ll all be saying “well should have gotten his brother down to LSU too.”

what worries me is just the opposite, what if we take both and then Ishmael isn't all that good, or has academic or discipline/legal issues? Then we have burned 2 schollies on a bust. Seems very risky. The staff better be pretty dam sure of what they are getting if they go this route. Isn't there some other way or something else we can do to get his brother here with him without the football scholarship. Maybe give his brother some sort of job in the program and set them both up in a nice apt or something like that? something to keep his brother near by and part of things without actually costing a schollie? (though maybe his brother has some football upside also.. He has to have some physical football talent through genetics you would think)

That’s pretty silly. What if the 2 guys you use the scholarship on instead gave legal issues or bust? You take that chance with every kid.

Perception is very important to O in the recruitment of Ish and Lee

If he locks those two up, LSU would have pulled in every in-state player that they coveted.

I thought the rules were recently changed such that a school could no longer sign more than 25. If true, Alabama can can only get 1 more if they are sitting at 24.

Actually not the same, his brother was already at Ole Piss prior to Robert's senior year in high school.

That’s why ideally you want to recruit at minimum 3-4 true DL and 4-5 OL every single year. Doesn’t always play out that way for multiple reasons.

In the end it’s a numbers game. The busts are there in every class.

Ish is a special talent. There isn’t anybody quite like him on LSU’s board with his size/speed combo. Ika would be a nice add, but I think he’s a true NG...not a replacement for Ish. Ish could play all 3 spots really. Byron Young is also a little different player, but I don’t see him flipping anyway. So there really is no replacement for Ish’s skill set this year for LSU.

3-4 down linemen are typically more specialized than 4-3 imo. In a 4-3 the two DT spots and 2 DE spots are usually pretty interchangeable. So you can load up on those two types of players. Not as easy with a 3-4 imo.

They didn't sign a full class last year so they can sign more than 25 this year as long as the overage number are early enrollees and will count back to last year's class. I think they sign 21 last year so they could sign up to 29 this year as long as 4 are early enrollees. Might have been 28 but somewhere in the vicinity.

Yeh of course

There’s just none in the state this year

Really disappointing LSU wasn’t able to get one from Mississippi this year, especially with auburn getting two and possibly a third in Moore.
