The Oahcita Citizen - Zachary dominates West Monroe, 48-7
Zachary senior quarterback Hudson Spangler had his finest performance of the season, completing 18-of-27 passes for 330 yards and five touchdowns. And that was accomplished through three quarters. Tyson George recorded seven receptions for 173 yards and two scores, while LSU commit Trey’Dez Green caught six passes for 87 yards and two scores.
“They’re the real deal,” Davis said. “I don’t know how you defend it simply because you can’t double cover the big guy (Green) because you’ve got three other guys on the other side that can beat you any way and any how. And the quarterback is a good player and they’re 300 across the front. It’s a test. I’d hate to see the guys who can get after those guys and beat them because they’re definitely the best football team I’ve seen this year.”
TTT - WM coach says you can't double-cover Zachary receivers. SEC teams can't double-cover LSU's Nabers and Thomas. I like the similarities.

Green showed a lot of athleticism. He is an all state caliber basketball player. He made one catch in the front corner of the end zone where he had to get both feet in and stretch for the ball. Big time play.

Saw he was ruled ineligible to play basketball this year even though he’s eligible for football at Zachary.

Feel like Brian Kelly forced that one to make sure he’s football ready!

What's the deal with the basketball part?

LHSAA doing LHSAA things.
So petty.
So petty.

Since he brought it up, I bet it’s something with his AAU coach. The ineligible for basketball isn’t the shocking part. It’s the fact they’re letting him play football while ruling him ineligible for basketball…a sport later in the school year. Tell me ANYONE else they did that for in the past. If he can’t play basketball, he shouldn’t be able to play football. If he can play football, he should be able to play basketball. Makes you wonder who pushed the LHSAA to let him play football…

He had already been ruled eligible for football then someone sent in pics of him in summer playing basketball with the Zachary kids. He should be eligible in both but that is how it happened that he was declared eligible already for football then the basketball ruling came after the pics were turned in.
That is why in his post he said he has been playing basketball with those kids since the 4th grade. That wasn’t new and some out of nowhere recruiting

Kids play on AAU and 7v7 teams with other players from all over. That makes zero sense

I didn’t say the ruling made sense

What has happened to West Monroe? It used to be an annual power in football.

Baseball
The talent is here, they just choose to sit out football and "Focus on baseball". Sophomore this year would be a 3 year starter at a hybrid TE/WR spot. Kid basically looks like Cooper Kupp. Sitting out for baseball. Rinse/repeat over and over.

Any chance of him playing both sides of the ball? He would be fun in a backfield on trick plays.
