Is Cook the answer at point guard for the future, or do we need someone like Jalen Terry?

We signed Ezewiro. How are we updating things?

Kept hoping we would see something break on Thomas or Wilkinson by today, since Wade said earlier in the week that there would likely be a couple of surprises before the end of the week. While I realize there is still some time left, it appears it is just not going to happen till next week.

Blakeney was the #3 ranked shooting guard in the country and #13 overall commit. He averaged 17 PPG his soph. year before turning pro. Blakeney was a great player. Wish we would have had him with Wade at the helm.

Blakeney was a good scorer and had a solid sophomore season, but you would be hard pressed to make an argument that he was a great sharp shooter. He never lived up to his ability and recruiting hype when it came to shooting 3’s in college. He was a 33%/36% shooter in his respective years here. Very avg., at best, numbers when it comes to long range shooting.

I think he would have been poised for a great year his 3rd year had he stayed and played under Wade, especially with having Waters to drive and pass out, setting Blakeney up better for shots. Unfortunately he decided to go pro, which has worked out for him for the most part.

"We have to sign a big class. We have three signed and we have to sign another three or four before it's all done. We have some work ahead of us and we need to add some big guys. We need to add a wing that can help us replace what Marlon (Taylor) brings us. We need to add another ball handler, but we have some good irons in the fire. All those guys certainly know each other and are very close. Any time you get a high-level player like Cameron (Thomas), (Jalen) Cook and Bradley (Ezewiro), other guys want to play with those guys.

The above is an update from Will Wade from 11/18/19. This is after the Cameron Thomas, Bradley Ezewiro and Jalen Cook signings. The fact that we will have only 4 scholarships (1 open now and 3 seniors) indicates that Wade expects some current players leaving (going pro, transfers and/or attrition).

Terry looks like he’s UL bound.

What's the deal with Thomas?

Thomas has not been medically cleared to play. No details are further known to me. I have not seen him on the sidelines for any of the home games.
