I would be happy with 1 of the 2 personally. Just don't want to wiff on both.
I want a damn rim protector.

Well obviously. I never said I would be disappointed or that Wade is a failure if he doesn’t get both.
My point is that neither are a guarantee so one would think or hope that he is recruiting both of them equally as hard. And if we get both then that’s even better as we have room for both and sets us up not only for this year, but down the road as well.

Yes we are. It seemed the dick vitale info had pushed him to Memphis but recent reports indicate CWW the American gangster flexed and put LSU back in drivers seat

Will be interesting to see. If Wade can pull this off with everything that has happened and fighting Penny head to head while having to fend off Vitale and others, then his legend as coach here will only continue to grow. Whatever the case, I think we can see that no one can get excited about this recruitment until the ink is dry.

Culotta made mention on 104.5 this morning that he expects Cisse to commit to Memphis on Wednesday.

Hoping this is misdirection from Culotta to avoid more "Dick" tweets! LOL!

Unfortunate; but sadly not unexpected with the way things were trending.
If Wade can pull Anei and he gets a waiver, then I'm still good. Anei's size combined with his 2 years experience I think still gives us the same or very very close to the same level of production we would have gotten from Cisse.
That's not to say I think Anei is as talented as Cisse; but Cisse would not have provided his full talent potential in his first and only year, especially when what we needed him most for his defense/rim protection and rebounding. I think Anei would give us that, and based on his past offensive production, would likely be at the same level as Cisse in that category too. Plus Anei likely plays 2 more years, which allows Gray to properly develop.

I’m posting this same info in a few of the basketball threads going on right now since everyone is responding in all 3...
So take this for what it’s worth; but I was listening to Ott on the way home in his new show. He did a whole segment on Cisse and LSU basketball. Here is the gist of some of what he said:
- said Cisse had silently committed to LSU 2 or 3 times; but that he and his handlers have notified Wade that he is committing to Memphis.
- said Cisse and his handlers/contacts told LSU specifically that it was b/c of Vitale’s tweets and the concern that created are the reason why he changed his mind. (This is the part that I kind of question some. Just can’t see them saying that so bluntly).
- said that compliance and some others inside the AD continue to be a thorn in the side of Wade and program, and that they are still operating under their own agendas. Calls out Woodward as not doing as much about this issue as he thought he would when first hired.
- a guest host (I think it was ? Hayes - older guy that’s a big basketball guy) said he still believes Woodward will “drain the swamp” (his words, not mine); but that He can’t do it as quickly as we hoped and has to be surgical and patient. Said he believes it will happen though and that those people will go kicking and screaming when he does.
- Ott said he still believes in Wade and continues to be amazed by the job he has done with one hand still tied behind his back.
It’s a good segment to listen to. Was in his 2nd hour (7:00 hour) of the show. I’d provide link to the podcast version; but it’s not up yet.

I agree. Like I said, it was the most unbelievable part of what he said. But he said it very directly and seriously.

Maybe LSU still has a shot for Cisse.

I certainly hope thats the case instead of us losing out on both, that would really suck and Wade wouldnt have anyone for his new defense to put in the middle really. Gray is more a 5-10 minute a game guy at best from the get go.

I know this for a fact that there are multiple people specifically in compliance that do not want CWW to succeed even if it means harming the student athletes and the entire program.

If you believe Jimmy Ott, then that ship has sailed. Said last night that Cisse and his people informed the coaching staff that he is going to Memphis.

I’m not saying he did or didn’t inform Wade but Jimmy Ott doesn’t know shite.
