I'm not sure how good ESPN is at this kind of stuff but it was interesting.
Top 150 draft prospects
7. Anderson
49. Eyanson
55. Fauske
65. Dickinson
68. Moss
79. Mckenzie
101. Young
103. Bucknam
104. Ebel
111. Shores
112. Paz
124. Ricken
127. Frey
128. Serna
145. Patrick
Fauske is our top HS recruit according to this. Bucknam ahead of Shores. Frey ahead of Jones. McKenzie now our top pitcher (Project mentioned him rising). Paz and Ricken up there, two pitchers I mentioned that I liked. Young and Patrick both have intriguing physical ability. Young could be similar to Jones and take a little time to adjust to SEC offspeed pitching, but with his size, athletic ability and 102 MPH arm is hard not to be excited about him. I imagine MLB is thinking the same thing and he is going to be offered a lot of money. Patrick has size and speed that you don't see very often. I imagine he has a high ceiling.

No interest from us in this guy? Figured we'd have the inside track on this guy if he wanted to play closer to home

There was some interest it appears but limited spots. I’m ok not taking the risk on a D3 guy

I didn’t see this coming. Good for him

The staff seemed to really like him.
I’m curious to exactly what went down with most of the guys. Seems like there were a bunch of locker room issues on that team.

It's difficult to keep guys on your team that don't have a clear path to playing time. Guys like Ryan, Hogg, Larson etc. have decisions to make. Kling, Kucherack, Dutton, Bucknam went where they were going to get more guaranteed playing time. NIL can also play a role. Jay has to recruit almost his entire team every year. It's a big problem for coaches, but guys like Jay, Vitello will thrive in it.

Anyone have an update on Beck? He was trying to get a waiver wasn't he?
Posted on 5/17/25 at 8:04 pm to N2daWild
agree with this and the fact that there is a large 2025 recruit class. You can buy what you need or develop it. In this league you don't have to develop when you can buy it 'plug and play'. I am high on Larson, Hogg, Costell and Ryan.

Last I heard he was trying to copy the guy at Tennessee that was petitioning for more eligibility but ends up that guy got denied...so not sure it worked.

Osuna wanted one for this year, I think the new rule would apply for NEXT year
Idk if Beck gets it, but I'd love it

I wouldn’t be high on Hogg. He’s got an SEC level glove but his bat won’t play here. I think he will be a really good player for Big 12 school or possibly a high level mid major like UTSA

Beck did go thru sr day so maybe he’s not counting on the extra year

????
Where’s this come from lol

According to the scouting profile on Hogg coming out of HS his hitting analytics translated to being able to hit at the SEC level. His hitting stats in the fall were pretty decent. His glove at 2B was fairly good. Jay gave him quite a few looks at SS as well, but I have my doubts there. I believe Hogg could play 2B and do well but I also believe Jay is going to bring in another MIF. That leaves Milam, Ryan, possibly Reaves and possibly top portal guy, possibly freshman competing for SS and 2B. Hogg could be our 2B next year but it isn't a clear path. Hogg as been the man his entire career and I'm not convinced he is willing to take a chance on sitting again next year. For our sake I hope he stays and if he can hit, Jay will find him playing time. I have like 33 guys on our current team that could return but I'm expecting only about half of them to return. The rest will go in the draft or portal.

Hogg should compete for 2nd / 3rd next season. He out hit Mikey Ryan in the scirmmages pretty easily. I saw Hogg on multiple occasions handled velocity
Posted on 5/18/25 at 5:21 pm to Lester Earl
Ryan is a defense first guy. Jay commented on his speed. As of now, Milam and Ryan are the only two players on the team that can play SS next year in my opinion. Ryan could leave or maybe the bat doesn't develop. That is why I think Jay will bring in a MIF that is capable of handling SS, as a back up to Milam.

totally disagree - not sure what you have seen. I saw him hit in fall and just went through his twitter and he can hit. Plus plus bat speed and a very high ceiling.

I’ve seen him very up and close for awhile in the Dallas area and one of my close friends has been one of his travel coaches. That’s just my personal opinion. You can have yours.
