What this team really need is somebody that's willing to go for the throat and Victorian has proven he is game.

Sawyer Pruitt - Live Oak - 2025

I was reading Perfect Game Louisiana 2025 recruits.
Christian Turner and Presley Courville are two highly ranked players committed to Arkansas and A&M. Did LSU offer these guys? I asked a few months ago about having more LA guys on the team. This seems like 2 players LSU could really use.
Any knowledge on the situation?

Also, what’s the deal with so many players being almost 20 years old seniors in high school?

Presley Courville committed to A&M while we still had our old staff here. I'm pretty sure he committed to Rob Childress.
I don't think we were ever connected to Christian Turner.

Thanks
It just seems a little odd showing no interest in the Turner kid. I did notice he was from Haughton. Same place as Stovall, maybe they are Arkansas fans over there.

Courville will be 19 when he graduates, not 20

i think he has family ties there or something but i do know LSU would like him as an athlete that could play C, OF or middle infield. He is Fast AF.

They get held back for sports when they are young. Benefits them to be 19 playing against younger competition. Some of the extremely talented ones are now reclassifying to their correct grade. Others who do make it to a college campus are draft eligible after their sophomore years. Jared Jones, Paxton Kling, Gavin Guidry, DJ Lemahieu, Ty Floyd, Mike Fontenot to name a few.- There's many more.

its not just for sports...it looking at the future and knowing even at young age that kids in general, especially boys, can really benefit from the extra year living under the guidance of their parents before having to go out and make potentially life-altering decisions and the understanding that there should be no rush in getting your kid into the workforce.
ask any momma at graduation, athlete or not, if they wish they could keep their kid under their roof one more year or if they wish they had 1 more year with them in HS. if you r kid is a great kid, you will wish you had another year

Very common esp in NLA to hold kids back for athletic reasons
Posted on 4/10/24 at 3:20 pm to Lester Earl
Holding kids back for athletic reasons seems over the top to me , but to each his own I guess. You would think that scouts and colleges would catch on to the fact that they might be dominating bc they are older than everyone else.

Anyone want to take a stab at how the MIF is going to play out next year? I'm guessing he's going to need to get at least 1-2 more portal guys.

If anyone on this team is playing MIF infield next year then we struck out bigly in the portal.

I say we go back to the UCLA well and grab Kucherak's high school teammate Roch Cholowsky.
He can't be excited about their move to the Big 10.
ETA: I think that Pac 12 schools in general may be a little ripe for the picking in the portal. The freshman shortstop at Cal looks really good too.

I guess you could move Milam to 3B but I assume he’d be a shoe in for 2B otherwise
Posted on 4/11/24 at 9:14 am to Lester Earl
I'd hope they can snagg Hogg and he eventually slides into 2B to compete with Milam. I wouldn't hate Cholowsky or Martin
Is this summer going to be the year Johnson is able to finally pull Jacob Meyer? There's no way he isn't on an SEC team next year.

You wouldn't take him based on walks? DVH said it best with Aloy "Get him or end up playing against him".
