Why wouldn’t we allow him to play short? We allowed Braswell to play short. Kent is light years better than Braswell.

what you're saying is Jay needs to tamper more lol

Apparently so. There’s no way Tenn is not tampering big time. Some of these kids hit the portal and immediately all you hear is Tennessee is the team to beat? Come on man lol

Yea there’s nothing sketchy about that at all

I don't think that's a fair assessment for Braswell. Kent has played only 6 games at SS in 2 seasons at A&M. He did post a higher OPS (though in half the PAs) so he could be a better overall hitter.

We know that to be the case? That kent is good defensively at short? Im not saying he isnt, but im also not saying i know definitely that he is.
He hasnt played much there.

The avenue to the player is through the advisor/agent. The players are not signed with the advisor/agent and there isn’t any money so technically the advisor/agent doesn’t represent the player other than a verbal agreement to work with the player. That’s the loop hole. If you think Jay/LSU dosent talk to advisors about players then you’re mistaken.

You can accuse LSU of whatever you want man. What I know is this is not the first time that a kid hits the portal and IMMEDIATELY it’s known by many that he’s going to Tennessee.

Do with that reality what you choose.

I know what I said. Weird for an LSU fan to get defensive about it but ok.

Edit to add: hasn’t Vitello been punished before for tampering? That would support that he’s rather aggressive in that practice would it not? Yes I guess the answer is let’s be more aggressive at it too. That’s the last I’ll say about it because I don’t want to derail the thread.

The portal and NIL is a cutthroat business. Baseball probably not as much as football and basketball. If you aren’t “tampering”, you aren’t trying and you’ll be left behind

Don’t mean to make it personal with you . This is the Reason why I’m hesitate and careful with what I put on here . It’s easy for it to become personal.

My point was about the loop hole of contacting advisors/agents and it’s not direct contact with the family. And all schools do it from mid major on up. It’s basically feelers . And it goes the other way, advisors/agents will put feelers out there to schools they may be interested in before they hit the portal.

Looks like a&m is indeed hiring earley. Short term not the best for us from a personnel standpoint, but longterm may bring a&m down a notch or two

Man.. getting pressure by a roster that won’t be enrolled in another year or two to hire a first time head coach in the SEC is uh.. a decision.

This is how it happened with Fischer/Tennessee.

The Ahuna stuff I have a longer explanation on, but that will have to wait until Tuesday when I have a computer instead of just a phone.
