I feel like Shores and Noot are both in the same boat. Both likely will go in the draft. If we get 1 of the 2 I would be surprised.
I think pitching wise we lose Snelling, Shores, and Noot. Probably at least 1 JUCO guy also.

That would stink. We'd still have arms in the class, but would any be "ace" material? Sincere question, to those who know more than me.

The only for sure guy seems to be Snelling. There is still a shot at Shores and Noot. I just personally don't think it will happen. Outside shot to keep up the hope for it too though.
As far as guys coming that can impact starting pitching immediately, I would think Michael Kennedy (if he doesn't get drafted really high) and the JUCO guys can come in and compete for a weekend spot. Maybe can look to the portal and see if anything is there of interest.

I can see that, I'm just getting the feeling (for whatever reason) that we're getting a few kids we don't expect to make it.
Don't ask me why.

I feel that way more about position players than I do pitchers. Hopefully Jay can pull a few pitchers though. Next year we should definitely be in a better place with starting pitching. Besides the names I mentioned in my last post I believe Aiden Moffett and Griffin Herring are 2 other kids who can come in and compete for a weekend starting job.

Neal would be a player I would be really excited about. I think he could be a starting Catcher from day one.

This year should show how NIL may or may not make a big change to how many kids get to college campuses from here on out.
NIL money can’t compete with early Rd signing bonuses. These kids are going to have to want to come to school & make money off small autograph signings & such

Well it always starts with the kid wanting to play and go to college. Obviously won't compete with early rounders that don't have interest in college. I'm talking more of the fence guys that truly have a decision they need to make. A guy who with a little extra cash would rather come to college and play LSU baseball and bet on themselves than signing for 1 mil and going ride in a bus with no AC in the minors for however long it takes to make it if they ever make it.

Potential portal target: Trevor Moeck
RHP from San Diego that just spent his freshman year at Bradley.
Stats are meh, but being that he's from San Diego, I would guess our coaches have some connection to him.

Another potential portal target is Ryan Faulks from San Diego State. We were looking at him last summer and I just saw he's in the portal now.

Ack pitched against Crowder yesterday, I can’t seem to find the Crowder side of the box score to know if Misiorowski pitched.

I'll start updating my position breakdowns and maybe start adding them up to look at what kind of incoming numbers we're looking at:
Infielders
Gavin Guidry - His draft ratings have dropped, which could be due to signability. I think there is a very good chance he gets to campus, but it's still not a guarantee.
Tucker Toman - Since the last post, his profile has sky-rocketed. I think he's nearly a lock to go pro.
Mikey Romero - Similar to Guidry in that his stock is dropping a little bit. MLB scouts have questions about his long term ability to stick at shortstop. He could come to campus to prove his ability there. There are no questions about the bat. I think it's leaning a little more to LSU than last time, but still not a lock.
We haven't had any infielders hit the portal. There have been discussions about Dugas returning for a 5th year and playing in the dirt. I still think we will hit the portal for an infielder. At this point I think JUCOs are unrealistic. There is also the possibility of a HS kid signed with a school that has a coaching change. There aren't any specifics I'm thinking about, but it's a category that sees late change sometimes.
I previously said we likely get 1 of the 3, and that's still where I'm at. There is a not insignificant chance we get both Guidry and Romero. As I said before though, even if we get both of them, I don't think we're done shopping.

Good update!!!
Let's hope these kids see the contribution they could make next year, and the possibilities it could propel them into the first round.

I'm leaning more and more toward Guidry and Romero both making it to campus. I feel like they both really want to play for LSU. I have not seen a recent mock draft with Romero in the 1st round, so that makes me lean more of him making it to campus.
Toman seems like he will go in the comp picks of the 1st round or early 2nd round pick. He will not be making it to campus.

If we get those two, plus one of the elite HS arms, Jones, and Kling, man...that would be amazing.

I know he's a '23 kid, but do we have any information on what happened to MJ Seo? There was a thread about is "day in the life" video on 247 and some posters were mentioning that he and his brother may have been kicked off of/removed from his highschool team. Any word on that?

I'm already stressing about getting all these guys playing time next year. If Kling, Guidry and Romero make it to campus. Where the heck do we put Dugas? LOl

I think if Dugas returns, it will be to play third base, if he can make the transition.

Some notable portal guys in general, not ones that we're attached to but names that caught my attention:
Blake McGehee - Ole Miss (from Tioga, LA)
Hayden Durke - ULL, was their opening day starter as a freshman in 2021
Vytas Valincius - South Carolina, highly rated recruit

Valincius is a big boy.
