The Barbe player from Kinder probably used an address of a relative to attend Barbe
Public schools gripe about private recruiting which was the main reason for the split but the old address card has been played for years by the public schools and those kids out of district that want to attend private schools usually make that decision on their own

ok yea he is smaller but is good. Has been real hot with the bat from what i have seen in the summer. And yea he prolly does end up the #3 starter.
as far as WM and young talent....yea they are stacked. WM is becoming a Baseball school like barbe where Football almost comes 2nd. Their best young talent in 2026 and 2027 classes have quit football in the last year to focus on baseball only and from what i was told, they were the best football players too in those classes. Has kind of caused a Riff between Football and baseball from waht i was told. But i expect them to have a couple high level D1 prospects in those classes.

i will never get adults trying to control where a kid goes to school like they own them because of the address. Let the kid go where he feels is best for him, private or public.
just need to go to full school choice. Dont want the kid to leave, get better. Sorry but people dont leave the top 3a programs usually, even to go to barbe. Become the best, provide top notch academics and amazing facilities along with great coaching and kids wont leave.
Everyone wants the good kids to stay at their school, but they are not willing to compete for them as far as providing the above.
what people forget about Barbe, although its not the best school overall, they have the best AP program in the state of any public school. They offer more classes than almost anyone. and I say that as a parent that more than likely wont be sending my kids there.

It's not exactly that easy for public schools to do this. It requires a lot of funding that isn't in their hands. That's a very naive take.

says every person who wants to keep the status quo. How come some schools can and go out and raise the money through private funds, but others cant?
There is a reason the cream rises to the top. they work harder, that includes at fundraising.
and nothing naive about school choice.

Sounds like something your grandfather might say when explaining how he use to be able to finance a year's worth of college from his summer job...

What? How could you possibly draw that conclusion from my statement.

Mainly, community support. I can guarantee you ASH and Barbe would raise a million dollars light year's faster then a school like Belaire, no matter how hard they tried.

Debarge moved to lake Charles when he was 10-11. He and Guidry are/were best friends. Played little league, tourney ball and high school together. Check their social media and their parents social media. Also looks like mom teaches in LC.
Also looks like they are the same age

not even close. But you do realize almost every plant job pays atleast 20/hour. Add in overtime and most people could easily earn enough to pay for a local college for atleast 1 semester and possibly close to paying for whole year. Get on a TA and work 84 hours a week for the 12 weeks of summer and you easily pay for it.
wasnt really the arguement though. seen plenty of HS coaches do the bare minimum in both coaching and fundraising. Many others do much better in the coaching department but still suck at fund raising.

I agree. But take LCCP for example, they are a start up school and have been doing a fine job building athletic facilities and winning teams/culture in a traditionally underprivilaged community. Got a ways to go on the academic side but it can happen.
build a winning program and it makes your fundraising job much easier.

that we can agree on.

It's easy to say "get better" but it isn't that easy. Public schools are typically hampered by a lack of funding and most programs aren't going to raise enough money to build top notch facilities. Hell, most programs can't even get help from their own city governments. Building large batting cages and facility upgrades aren't cheap.

Good luck finding a plant that's hiring a high schooler/college kid for 12 weeks a year.

Agreed

Agree to an extent. Any large project fundraising, like a batting cage, weight room, or bigger is going to be a school/community project.
Uniforms, equipment, etc, I'll put on a coach having to hustle. I agree with that.

tons of kids get hired on for the summers once they turn 18. i did it and know plenty that do still.

agree to an extent. But like batting cages, most of the materials can be donated pretty easily if you build them outside. You dont have to have hit trax etc.
weight room, get with other schools in the area, when they upgrade you take what they leave. Or you simply fund raise couple thousand. If you know how to program you dont need a ton of equipment, especially for baseball teams.
2-3 squat stands(not racks), 2-3 cheap benches, medicine balls, barbell, weights, gymnastic rings and pull up bars.
everything else can be made. old tires, homemade sandbags etc. build it slowly overtime and make use of what you can.

Like Jack Walker and Brody Drost?
Jack Walker got on that crushed corn at Moo State. If you ask anybody from there, he's easily one of the top 3 arms to ever walk out of Barbe. Wouldn't surprise me if he finds his groove...IF he gets his figure back

jack did put on a lot of weight, but main thing was the coach at moo state messed with all kinds of mechanics on most of their pitchers. Whole staff was up big time on walks, lower on 1st strike % etc. Their fans have been livid about it all year.
and yea i wouldnt be surprised if Jack came on strong at La Tech. He is going to have to hit the weights hard though.

I've heard some people say he got home sick from girlfriend too. Do you know if LSU ever looked at him the past few months?

i would imaging he did. all his post are pretty much of her.
I dont think LSU gave a serious look. not with everyone else coming in. Other years it would have been a possibility, but not with what was coming in.

i havent spoken to him in a while, but i would imagine alot lol.
kid works his arse off. All day everyday working the swing, working getting stronger etc. If he makes it big time, nobody can say he didnt earn it. 2-3 hours minimum 5 days a week working.

Yea it was tragic that they didn't go further in the LLWS last year. It was so shady how he got to go to all stars too...typical Lake Chuck shenanigans
