Didnt mean to imply it did, just that that happened. We are all just Hoping. I’m particularly high on Frey.
Also, are you Frey family? All 5 your post are on him. We want Ethan!!!!!

Ethan is more Nick Stavinoha than say, Jon Zeringue. Who prob would have been a 1st rounder without lsu in the picture. I just don’t think Ethan is quite that explosive athletically.
Nick was an excellent player in his own right. Was big, and could move, and smashed.

He’s the guy that doesn’t know a walk isn’t an at bat.

Haha, no no just a big fan of his!

So you don’t know Frey but you know he’s considering going pro even though it’s not out there publicly? Interesting

I’m from rosepine, which would explain why I know it’s an option. He had scouts coming to his high school games regularly, so why would they keep coming if he didn’t even want to consider it.

Also didn’t say I didn’t know him, I just said I wasn’t family.

Because it’s their job.

It’s their job. It doesn’t mean a team is willing to pay him 1 million.

pulled this from 247 (not premium). It's the Hunt Palmer draft write up.
Mostly stuff we've already discussed/is known, but Hunt always does a good job.

Baseball Draft Cheat Sheet
The Draft starts Sunday night and continues Monday and Tuesday. It's no longer the 40 round marathon. Minor League Baseball is shrinking, and the draft is, too. Just 20 rounds this year. As a rule of thumb, those selected in the 1st 10 rounds are very likely to sign. After that, not nearly as likely. Teams who use a Top 10 round selection on a player they do not sign forfeit the value of that slot. Just wasted cash. Here's where LSU stands entering what will be the most interesting draft in program history based on the signing class.
From last year's team, you will 100% lose Jacob Berry and Cade Doughty. You very, very likely lose Eric Reyzelman and Paul Gervase. Ty Floyd will field some phone call, but I think he comes back. The rest of the significant contributors with eligibility are back.
Now to the signing class:
ZERO CHANCE TO PLAY AT LSU
Justin Crawford OF- Carl's son. Top 20 pick
Tucker Toman 3B- Elite switch hitting infielder. Top 25 pick
Robbie Snelling LHP- Lefty throwing upper 90s this spring. Top 30 pick
^^those will be the guys you hear early on Sunday
Good as Gone
Chase Shores RHP- Nearing 100 mph from a 6'8" frame. Probably a Top 35 pick
Mickey Romero SS- The more Im' hearing, the more this smooth fielding, left handed hitting stud is going to sign. Top 2 rounds
Jacob Miserowski- Throwing 100. Might go in Round 1
DRAMA
Brady Neal C- He's in BR and in summer school, but he's a plus defender with a good left handed bat. Those aren't al that common, Top 3 round pick. I think he signs
Jaden Noot RHP- Mid 90s fastball and a good slider. Top 3 rounder. Likely signs.
Jared Jones C- Big right handed bat that projects to a lot of power. Not as good as Neal defensively. He's in BR in summer school. I think LSU keeps him.
Gavin Guidry SS/3B/RHP- LA player of the year from Barbe. His number is supposedly pretty high. If he doesn't go in the Top 60, he's LSU's. I think he goes to school
Michael Kennedy LHP- These are the guys you have to get. He's not tall, just 6'1", but there's likely 92-94 in that left arm. He can show that in college. Need him, and I think he ends up in school.
Nate Ackenhausen LHP- Big strikeout guy in JUCO. Would be a really nice bullpen add.
Aiden Moffitt RHP- Huge high school righty from Mississippi. Up to 97 this spring but raw. I like LSU's chances.
Nic Bronzini LHP- He's on campus. I think he comes to school.
NO DRAMA
Paxton Kling OF- Maybe the best bat/athlete in the class, although that is probably Toman. but Kling has pulled his name out of the draft, so he'll be a Tiger.
Griffin Herring is a LHP that I really like in this class. He just dominated in Texas this year. Not a lot of Draft buzz around him which surprises me.
Losing 8 and getting 7 would be a great haul. Sounds crazy to say. I desperately want Brady Neal to stay in BR, but I don't see it.

Why do guys who have no chance of going to school commit? Even guys who aren’t sure, is there no situation where they can decide on a school after the draft if they decide to go to school? I just don’t see the point in some of these guys even picking a school.

Schools must fill spots. Kids stock rise years after committing. It also gives them a ton of leverage to sign a deal. It’s not a perfect system for colleges.

Thought Jay said Paul was the best defensive OF he ever recruited.
Close but not exactly. He said Paul was a "great defensive player, one of the best I have seen in a long time in recruiting circles."

With how to portal is now. I feel that’s almost more important. You’ll sneak a few elite guys in HS and have depth with lower rated players but the portal is putting great players in starting roles immediately

I dont know ethan personally either but i know some of the kids that do play with him and know some of the parents that know his parents as well. From what they are all saying is ethan wants to go MLB but his dad wants him to go to Lsu. FWIW im almost certain he is enrolled at Lsu as of right now.

Jay talked with the AYS guy and someone else I didn’t recognize. Mentioned Guidry, Neal, Kennedy and Jones as guys they hope to get. He started talking about the possibility of guys getting overslot deals outside the first, but stopped mid sentence to say “Chase Shores is another guy”. I’m pretty sure he was saying he’s a guy they are hoping to get, but he could’ve been mentioning him as an overslot possibility.
He’s still saying 5 guys are gone and 5 are 50/50. If guys like Frey and Moffitt are seriously considering getting drafted, I think it would be news to Jay.

I think we are gonna get a surprise or two in the draft but I also believe we will get a disappointment or two. Over all I think it will even out and Jay will try to fill in the holes after the draft. In my view we need more pitchers. Maybe one or two more and a catcher who can split time with the others.

I thought once they sat in a college class, they were committed to college until their next draft eligible year. When did that change?

They can sign any time until the MLB deadline.
