Which makes picking up guys like Hurd, Skenes, and the incoming freshmen all the more important.

FWIW, read a comment about Wes Johnson by Michael Kennedy; sounded super happy with the hire and excited to get to work with him.

Still have to take a chance with Tebrake

Problem is the number of top arms in this year's college class that had arm issues and even one of the top high school arms in Lesko, will see where all those shake out in draft

Pitching will be at a premium in draft this year so some arms might go earlier than they would in a normal draft

He was with Moscona yesterday and made it sound even more of a done deal that he will sign pro than he did on Mikey show. Will have to be insulting low for him not to sign I think.

I'm wondering if we're still in on Kiesel. It's been a while since we initially made contact, but there has been pretty much nothing since.

It’s kind of odd if that’s the case considering he keeps accepting interviews from LSU media guys.

I'm sure he doesn't mind doing the interviews incase his number isn't met. He makes it very clear in both interviews that the draft is priority and then LSU is the fall back plan. He doesn't even plan to come to BR until after the draft if his number isn't met. So that kind of says he expects whatever number he has to get met and he will sign.

He did say he expected to get drafted last year and he wasn't though. So maybe he does have a number higher than what pros see in him.

Micah Bucknam starting tonight for the Trenton Thunder at 6pm. You can stream their games. Last time I tried the audio was weird.

I just read an article on Carter Young and it said he is still ranked in the top 200 by MLB in spite of the poor season. They mentioned he could greatly improve his stock with a good season.

That's still a high rank and he should be motivated. I'm trusting Jay on this one.

Absolutely. The potential is there for him to hit .280-.300 with an OPS .900+ with 12-15 homers. If he does that then he will be up in the top 3 rounds. He needs to work with Jay on pitch recognition and cut down on the K big time.

Definitely someone exciting to have join the team unless a team takes a chance on him in the draft this season and he decides to sign.

BA top 2023 high school draft prospects. Guess we should probably get used to these top recruits and sweating out how many of them make it to campus each year.

Of the star players, if we get one a class, with 90-150 level players (like Pearson) who were properly evaluated, that's a winning program.

I’d rather we have added Larry over Young if we are need MIFs.

I think Larry is a good ball player. I think the potential in what you can have in Young is better. Would have been happy with either one of them, but the way the timing played out I'm sure Larry saw how crowded the MIF will be here next season.

Kade Morris just committed to TCU. Not too much of a surprise with his former HC on staff there.

Would have Larry too in a vacuum. But I think Young is a guy you can play on the left side of the infield & Larry isn’t.
