It would be Phenomenal if both Pearson and Cabrera made it to campus.
My Dream defensive lineup for next season would be
OF - Duplantis
OF - Pearson
OF - Cabrera
3B - Bechtold
SS - Smith
2B - Watson
1B - Slaughter
C - Ferducci - This is assuming that Pap goes pro

I've heard directly from players on the team that Pap is good as gone unless something absolutely insane happens.

I think you'll see Jake at 2B. Pearson would be a big upgrade at DH and you could keep Watson at CF.

If Pearson is here, he is likely RF. It just doesn't seem likely we get him and Cabrera both

Pearson had a shoulder injury and his arm grades out at a 30 on a 20-80 scale according to MLB.com. He's not playing right field for anyone. Watson is going to stick to center as well. It's his best position and obviously he's effective there. No point in changing something that's working so well

Did that shoulder injury just happen to Jacob Pearson ?
I don't give 2 shits about what MLB says this kid will rake at the collage level. Hope LSU signs him & Caberea and most of the rest.

Freshman year. He DH'd at WM that year. Then played LF the next two years with Slade in CF. Then moved over to CF this year. His arm is coming back, but he's not a RF.

We were talking about defense, nobody said anything about him not hitting. I think we can all agree his hitting and speed is fine, as of now his arm isn't

Thanks for the info on Pearson.

Hope Pearson turns out into a Bregman situation (finger) with the shoulder injury sliding him to LSU.

That would be a ridiculously talented and youthful lineup
Although I'd keep Watson in CF, slide Pearson/Cabrera to RF, and have Pearson/Cabrera DH.

I'm getting a little more worried each day that Bechtold won't make it to campus.
On a not completely unrelated note: Mason Templet is hitting really well in the Prospect League so far and has played 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and DH so far.

Any word on what round Nicholas Storz might be drafted in? I can't find much but seems he would be drafted fairly early

He hasn't been able to pitch as much as he would have hoped leading into the draft and his stock is sliping a tad, all this being said he's still a top 10 round prospect.
Getting him to campus would be massive, a true 2 way player and has tons of raw power and could at the very least turn into a DH/closer type player.

His stock dropped because his velo dropped this spring, but he's still a highly thought of prospect.
He's ranked in the early 200s in the BA 500, that would put him somewhere around 5th or 6th round.
I wouldn't be shocked if he got drafted today (First 75 picks are today). But I'm not expecting it.

Exactly, the MLB draft is a complete unknown outside of the top 2-3 rounds. It basically ends up as teams calling around and saying "Would you be willing to sign around 700k?" if that player shows interest they'll take a shot top 10 rounds, if not players completely fall off the map and go way lower than expected which is a sure fire sign that they didn't hear a number they are willing to sign for.

That is what I was thinking as well. IMO a guy like him has serious top 10 pick potential if he comes to campus and develops some more.
Really hoping we pull him in

I don't see him getting drafted today. I think he has a very strong commitment that will drop him deep into the draft

Adam, so Nate Pearson, Enlow and Cabrera are the biggest draft risks?
