There are more people complaining about complaints about 3 stars than there are people actually complaining about 3 stars.

Right?!?!?! There’s way more 3 stars drafted every year than 5 stars too! It might have something to do with the fact that there are like 700 3 stars every year but who cares!

it doesn't mean 3 stars are better than 4 stars, it just means the staffs evals are more important than the recruit rankings.

Keep in mind that we're talking about HS juniors evaluations. Lets see how these kids develop.

I gained 2 inches and 20 pounds and got much faster between my junior and senior seasons. Maybe many of these 3 star kids wind up with 4s.

Even when you look at 5* from an individual standpoint most of them don't turn out to be much on the pro level. Those 5* stars are heavily weighted on combine performance but combine performance doesn't translate how good someone will be in the NFL.

Completely agree! I believe quite a few of our current "3 star" commits will receive a 4th star prior to NSD.

Why?? I don't see anyone bitching about our 4 & 5 star recruits. As many of others have stated, I have MUCH MORE confidence in our coaching staffs evaluation of players/talent than I do of any national ranking service.

Star rating is purely a rating of "physical potential". It doesn't have anything to do with heart, desire or work ethic. Some services do incorporate these factors in determining 5 star players. That's why there's only 20+ 5 star players ranked yearly.

People are probably bitching because 4 and 5 star recruits have a FAR greater chance of becoming top level SEC and NFL players.

Its just a fact.

Yes, there are some 3 star players that have become studs. No doubt about it. The chances are just much lower.

I would imagine a ton of three stars don’t even make the nfl

I really don’t care as long as they can play, but I do enjoy getting higher ramked guys as well

The star rankings aren't finalized. I wouldn't worry about stars until after the summer when all of the camps are finished. Some of our recruits are 3-star now, but will get bumps after the evaluation process.

Caterpillar, I generally agree with your statement above. What gets me is that all of these "so called" LSU Tiger fans on TD are actually utilizing our number of 3 star recruits to either directly or indirectly criticize CEO and his ability to be a successful Head Coach. If the majority of these same 3 star recruits end up panning out and/or receiving a 4th star or more, these same people will then give praise to Aranda, Ensminger and others for doing a GREAT job in evaluating talent and finding diamonds in the rough. IF they do not pan out, guess who will get the blame!

The article I read yesterday about these camps and coaches laying eyes on these guys and asking to do things to see how they respond is something everyone on this site should read. So many offers are handed out because of those camps. Even if you don’t trust O, I know most everyone respects the position coaches and Aranda. They are the ones that push for these guys. For some reason no one understands that

Great input Tigerstripes....refreshing to see a post that has meaning and merit vs. the other bullshite that these so called Tiger Fans post. Post a link to the article if you can. No star rating can tell you about a young athletes grit, mean streak, attitude, passion for the game etc., like a coaching staff can during summer camps! But let them flame on....misery is something they definitely all have in common.

This is an elementary argument that has been debunked a million times.

Anyway, why do we care what a player does in the NFL? Tom Brady didn’t do shite in college but he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the NFL.

It’s basically 100% garaunteed your team will be more successful full of 5 stars rather than 3 stars, do you deny that?
