Shouldn’t be. They still have 2 scholarships open and nothing really available as far as the 2022 class; so will need to fill with portal.

I’m hoping for another wing/SF and PF/C player to round out the roster.

ETA: It has also been suggested that she may leave 1 open to just be able to add to next year’s class.

I mentioned that because Kim isn't going to waste a scholarship for the sake of having another body when they already have 13 players. Its better off to be saved for another great recruit or even for the portal the following year.

But I came to post that I heard Morasha Wiggins (former 5 star, top 20 prospect from 21 class) from UNC has LSU among her finalists. 6'0 wing player from Michigan, didn't play much as a freshmen. If there is a spot LSU could use depth its on the wing. Plus it gives the team more size and is someone they can develop for the future.

Thats what someone I know close to the program told me. I try to share whenever I hear or get told things

Per text,

-Aalyah Del Rosario (5 star 6'5 post player from NY)
-Chloe Kitts (5 star post from Florida)
-Angelic Velez (4 star guard from NY and Aalyah's teammate)
-Delaney Thomas (4 star guard from DC)
-Laci Steele (3 star from Oklahoma)
-Kylie Marshall- (4 star guard from Texas)
-Olivia McGhee (4 star guard from VA)
-Chloe Clardy (4 star guard Ark)
- A couple other Texas players

Just a bunch of names, not sure who they are serious about or not. They likely recruit a bunch of players just to have a relationship but I imagine Rosario and Velez are at the top of their list with Williams of course. Plan is to sign I guess 4

Next season, Payne, Morris, Carson and Ladazhia graduate. So 4 openings plus the two openings we have right now (but they are still actively recruiting the portal)

With the transfer portal these days (for and against), its kinda hard to begin any predictions. If they can sign a bunch of top kids, I imagine they will use those scholarships but I imagine they will be prepared to use the portal as well. Kim has worked the portal extremely hard her last 4 years as a coach, its the new age of recruiting as well. Sign a few good players and aid with the portal in spots you need help with.

Looking at the 2022 signing class, feels like the Pac12 is going to make a big jump soon.

23 out of the top 85 players signed with Pac12 schools.

12 of the top 22 as well.

But will they all stay there?

Fun fact, 14 of the 24 McDonalds All American's from the 2020 class have already transferred or are in the portal now.

Its the Wild West now in all sports

Former top 40 player 6'4 post player Latasha Lattimore deciding between LSU and Miami. Transfer from Texas (3 years of eligibility left).

Would they prefer her and the UNC wing you were talking about ?

I have no clue to be honest but adding Lattimore, I guess they aren't confident about Gusters future if they are bringing on another big on top of what they have already. But Kim loves talented post players but she is 6'4 and super athletic and quick. Kim seems to be prioritizing athletic stretch bigs more, considering how wide open offenses are becoming.

Agreed. I believe it's both. Gusters is going to have to totally transform her body to play quality minutes. But Kim traditionally has always had multiple big girls on her roster. I think the freshman Sa'myah Smith can be really good.

Sa'Myah should be really good. She got invited to the U18 US Trials along with our other 2023 commit Janae Kent

Kim is worrying about building the best roster she possibly can and they will figure out the rest after. Having dominant post play IMO is a key being a top team on the women's side consistently. It was her bread and butter at Baylor.

Kim did a really nice job with Aifuwa and Newby for what they could do. It'll be fun to see what she can do with some really good talents on roster and on the way.
