Mays is inconsistent, but he will he a massive experience edge over Smart for next season, plus him and Waters will have built chemistry. You will not see Smart bump Mays out the lineup at the beginning of the year, if it happens, it will be over the course of the season. All 3 will probably play a ton, I dont expect any to average less than 20-25 minutes a game. Smart is a spectacular player, but if there's 1 thing he will have to improve on, it's self-control. He can score, but sometimes it's due to pure volume, and it's not something Wade will tolerate. If you look at some of his high school games, he'll drop 32 points, but took 28 shots to get there (and went like 9 for 28).

Smart will go through an adjustment period in college, but he'll catch on and be coached by one of the best in Wade.

I can see us playing 4 guards at times vs certain opponents. Maybe not as exclusively as that Kyle Lowry nova team but as more of a wrinkle lineup..

All of these recruits will have some adjustment. Reid has been knocked for a lack of hustle and trying to play too cute sometimes, so Wade is gonna have to keep him motivated and teach him to stick to his strength. Days seams to be the most consistent guy, he’s just a little undersized

Reminds me of Johnny O'Bryant III. People said the same thing and they have a similar style of play. Can't wait to see what Wade can get out of him.

Certainly all go through an adjustment to the pace, ebb & flow, new teammates that are much better, etc...

I just think Smart's adjustment will have to be to play within himself and not get out of control like he does now feeling the need to score 30+ every game that's close and forcing things. Wade simply wont put up with lots of bad shots.

I really love how Wade knows advanced metrics are a real important piece to pay attention to and that's why you see us pretty much only shooting 3's and getting to the rim. 15 foot jumpers are just bad, and unless you can knock them down 50% or better, he'll bench you for taking them.

The fact this team is one of the best in the country in field goal % and the offensive improvement overall from last year to this year is testament to the work he's put in and coaching to these guys. Now, he can't force them to make layups and open 3's, but offensively you have to love what he's brought in this quickly.

Is Bigby Williams practising with the team this year. If so what does he add besides a "Big". Is he aggressive on the boards, good rebounder, good touch?

I believe Wade said they can’t score on him in practice

Bigby Williams will start next year, he was the JUCO national player of the year when we came out to Oregon.

He averaged 16.8 pts, 13.6 boards and 5.6 blocks per game. He's exactly what we're missing this year inside, a rim protector and rebounder.

It will be something like:
C - Bigby-Williams
PF - Reid
SF - Sampson
SG - Mays
PG - Waters

The other freshmen will play a good bit, but i see wade sticking with some experience in the starting lineup to start. The difference in going from Reath-Epps to BigbyWilliams-Reid will be crazy on the defensive end.

I am not including Emmitt Williams right now since he isn't a committ, but he could certainly start in Reid's place at the 4 while Reid relieves Bigby-Williams at the 5. Reid is very much an around the rim type of player mostly, and his profile is wrong, says 6'9 225...watch video of him, he's at minimum 240 right now, lots of extra beef:
Recent games

You'll also notice for a big guy he isn't clumsy with the basketball.

Thanks, sounds like they are going to be the keys to making us a top ten team. IMO

Williams is more of an around the rim player, Reid plays inside out. He does a little of everything

If CWW can get a performance level out of Reid that will allow his name to be mentioned with Johnny O's he will be just fine.

Reid can step out a bit, but he will spend majority of his time in the paint of course.

They both play around the rim a ton, but i think Reid will live around the basket more in college than Williams with that extra size.

Note that Williams hit almost 50% of his 3's this past summer on AAU circuit, only takes like 15% of his shots from that range, buthe can hit them.

Williams does not start over Reid. Reid is a better ball handler and shooter. You may see a change in philosophy. Waters, Sampson, Williams, Reid, and Bigby-Williams would be one hell of a starting 5.
