Sonny said he likes Georgia a lot

Sucks but at least it's happening now

Is there smoke since he committed to us?

Or is this just when sonny said Georgia was a big player pre-commitment?

I think if we can get him back down on a visit soon it should end any speculation.

I agree. Georgia's got a lot of positive momentum going, but a LSU visit would temper things IMO.

And Sullivan apparently has interest in going back to Texas for his college..( He's from Texas).

That would suck big time

I'd be more inclined to give credence to that story if someone else wrote it.

Did he UV for it? If so, any reason to believe it's more than just a visit high?

I have a question about signing your papers early. Matt Womack & Hanner Shipley, signed the scholarships early I thought, yet I understand that Womack is visiting Alabama this weekend, I'm a little confused by this, obviously I'm misunderstanding something.

I wonder how Tyron Johnson's Texas Tech official visit is going. A loss to Arkansas can't help things.

If you're confused about something, most likely it's that you think he's actually committed to us. He's not. We're committed to him, but not the other way around as he can sign with someone else if he chooses. The advantage that we have is that we can have unlimited contact with him as though he has officially signed, while others must follow all the contact restriction rules.

Now I'm a little fuzzy on this, but my understanding is if he were to sign scholarship papers with someone else, the roles would reverse; they would have the contact advantage and we would then be restricted. Exactly how you are supposed to be notified, I don't know, but this was put in place in response to recruits signing multiple offers last year.

Nah, we would still have unlimited contact too. He can sign as many grant in aid forms as he wants, and all those schools can call whenever they want. Hootie supposedly did it with LSU, Bama, and Ole Miss. Will be interesting to see how this rule goes over in the next couple years, could definitely be abused as a way of a kids top schools being able to bypass all contact rules.

Yes, he can sign as many as he wants, but the latter part is just flat out wrong. I was not correct either, but mine at least describes what the behavior should be in most cases.

In April of this year the NCAA issued a new interpretation of the rule. Only the school that he enrolls in is allowed unlimited contact. The other schools that he signed with will be considered in violation of contact rules if they had ignored the rules.

Now imo if the school acted in good faith (e.g. they thought they were the only school who signed him) then the punishment shouldn't be more than a minor hand slap. But if it became public knowledge that he signed multiple papers, and if the school continued unrestricted contact, and the prospect didn't enroll, then the penalty should be more severe.

Thus under the assumption that the second school is now the leading school, the first school should back off (meaning follow the contact rules from that point on). How do you prevent another school or prospect from playing you into trouble? Act in good faith and recognize that if the prospect has signed multiple papers and hasn't rescinded the others in writing, he is not acting in good faith.

Yes but the rule as written still presents the obvious loophole, and the interpretation does nothing to change it. What school is ever going to admit they didn't believe they would enroll a player who had signed grant in aid? Until a later signing nullifies the first then it doesn't matter and schools will ignore the interpretation. Every school self-reports a laundry list of secondary violations every year, with little to no punishment.

Hope we don't loose some players after that beat down from Miss. State.

Hopefully they noticed Harris being given the chance and looking like a future star. I'm not so optimistic about the crowd giving up and leaving, that kind of thing tends to make an impression on recruits.

Recruits usually don't watch the whole game. Come out for the first half, watch and then go back into the players lounge/lockeroom/recruit area. The game matters very little. Facilities, hoes, relationships with staff and players, campus life, and atmosphere all weigh much more heavily on a recruits mind than the game itself. We aren't going to lose a recruit because we lost to MSU. If we do, then that kid was never coming to LSU anyway.
